...please!

;)

When I moved to HK I only brought my DS and PSP, not my 'cube (not much space in my case), so I've just bought a slim PS2 as my girlfriend's been complaining DS/PSP games are antisocial because of the tiny screen...

On the 'cube we used to play things like Mario Kart:Double Dash where we could both play at once, or something like Zelda where she could tell me things to try.

Since I've never had a PS2 I've never paid too much attention to the games for it (apart from the big-name ones obviously, which are mostly 1-player) until now. I'm thinking something like Lego Star Wars... 2-player where you're both playing at once...

Advice appreciated! :)

Chris

Y'know..... I don't think I own a single two-player game.

Oh wait - I do! Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. They tell me that r0xx0r5 in co-op, but I couldn't tell you for sure because I don't have any friends.

I much preferred the first one. It was a race for the gold :)

Virtua Tennis is a good idea GTApu ta, and I've not heard of War of the Monsters so I'll look at that.

She's not interested in fighters though so that's out, and Baldur's Gate too as she has the classical view of the D&D fan ;)

Agreed.

And based only on the demo, a big thumbs up to Lego Star Wars.

Quite enjoyed Timesplitters 2.

Agreed, although the second one is good co-op fun.

Guitar Hero looks great, but massive guitar peripherals make it a big no-no for me, trying to live light for a few years until I decide if I'm staying in HK or moving back to England...

Forget Dark Alliance, get Champions of Norrath. Basically the game game, just a lot better. And it even has a 4-player mode to boot.

And Gradius V of course

Metal Arms PS2 is awful. Awful, awful, awful. Runs at about 3fps.

Some of the arcade game collections feature multiplayer games.

If you had 2 GBAs with GC-link cables I'd tell you to get Zelda:4 Swords Adventures and forget about the PS2 altogether.

@ Blerk: Shame, I never finished it on my xbox, but the multiplayer did seem pretty fun.

Thanks for the ideas folks, Singstar might be a goer as well...

If DS Phantom Hourglass turns out to be simultaneous multiplayer like four swords I'll definitely be trying to get her to get a DS

The only PS2 game that gets as much multiplayer playtime as PES in this house hold is:

MASHED

So simple, so addictive, its where micro machines should be now.

Its got a handicap mode so 2 unmatched people can play and its gaming goodness has resulted in the most laugh-out-loud i can remember from any game. The physics are almost perfect and the tracks are short, sweet and tightly designed.

Am going on about it because i just want everyone to play it. In 2 player its awesome, in 4 player say goodbye to at least an hour and a half per sitting.

Think the fully loaded edition is under a tenner now too.

If you like survival horror then Obscure is not bad as it can be played 2 player co-op.

Yep. Two-player Singstar 80's, and your girlfriend will be addicted to the PS2 for months!

Kuri Kuri mix is OK for a couple of days' fun. Sadly the quality wears off towards the end; the first few levels are the best.

I might try and find this somewhere it the UK and have it posted over. It sounds like fun but it'll probably be hard to find because it's so old...

The adventures of Cookie and Cream

heyyo!: Nice idea but but not overly realistic ;)

That'd be the same as "Kuri Kuri Mix," which GrandTheftApu recommended, right?

Oh, is it? Didn't realise! I looked for Kuri Kuri Mix but couldn't find it so gave up and assumed it was something obscure!

Bombastic - I'll have a look :)

Just finished Kuri Kuri Mix, and it is very good. Could easily have been better though, I hated how the characters move (almost like a pointer, no sense of weight/acceleration/decceleration)... compare to something like Lego Star Wars II.

I wonder why it never got a sequel...

+1 for War of the Monsters.

I kind of miss that game. :(

It's like Rampage...but good.
