Foie Gras is one of my favourite things, and if anyone wants to look down their noses at me the last bacon sarnie they had better have come from some Duchy Of Cornwall happy pig and cost £2.60 for 6 rashers...

I'm shocked that tuna pate is impossible to find nowadays. I ate tuna pate sandwiches almost every day as a kid.

My Brother bought me a F&M hamper last year.

It wasn't like these ones, but now I know where the 'inspiration' came from :/

    pfffft!

    wouldn't eat the crap.

The piglets we eat are fed on Foie Gras and only drink fresh Malvern spring water.

Can I look down on you since i'm vegetarian? :p

To be honest though, Foie Gras is an absolutely despicable way to treat an animal just to prepare it for one type of food :(

I had a buffet lunch catered by the French Navy a few weeks ago. Highlights included a mountain of foie gras, literally slabs of the stuff piled high, and a meat butterfly: various deli cuts arranged in the shape of a giant fleshy butterfly. :D No fruit, veg or salad either! :D

Do you mean paste? They still do shiphams and princess paste in supermarkets.

They sell tuna pate in Tesco. I haven't had the nerve to try it yet.

They have mackerel pate as well, which is more cream cheese than pate.

If I was going on ethical treatment of animals I'd eat foie gras before bacon or battery chicken. And vegetarians can't look down on me - use your incisors and canines like a man ;)

I've never had foie gras, paté or (as far as I remember) offal of any kind.

That hamper is excess at its worst. I'm all for people enjoying the luxuries of life, but that's just obscene.

I wouldn't eat fois gras or non-free range meat. Fucking disgusting way to treat an animal.

I remember quite liking faggots with mushy peas when I was younger but other than that, no offal for me thankyouverymuch.

Even if you remove the way it's produced from the equation, I still wouldn't eat any of those. Just the thought of what it is is bad enough.

My reasons for not eating offal are more because I'm squeamish though.

What's a faggot? (In terms of food.)

True. I don't eat it on ethical grounds and still wouldn't even if it was the tastiest thing in the world.

See, that'd be ok. I'm a meat lover (bad choice of words methinks!) but paté, offal... can't touch any of that. Horrid.
