I find in the summer its fun and therapeutic, with something to be proud of at the end. In the winter every second of it is a miserable chore causing me to hate my chosen hobby.

I might sound a right nob for admitting this and have been laughed at at work for it but I clean mine in the bathroom in the winter, I just sit them in the bath and wash them down with the shower hose lol, but then I live on my own and my bikes most probably don't get as cruddy as yours as I'm not an off roader.

    :D

That sounds like divorce to me. I currently have them in the lounge drying and I don't think she's too pleased about that either.

I really wish I had a hot tap outside. Would make the whole hosing down thing far less miserable in the cold. Faster too.

Divorce is the best thing to happen to me, it reawakens you. :D

I wouldn't have discovered the wonderful world of cycling if it wasn't for that lazy bitch.

If that makes you a nob then please crown me the King your clan. I've also washed bikes in the bath with the shower, mainly because I don't have a good outside water source.

Try lighting a few candles - it makes it so much cosier.

Feel a bit bad for not cleaning my bike since I bought it earlier in the year.

Thinking about getting it resprayed black to match the new Selle San Marco Concor saddle i'm after 'cos i'm a bit of a tart, so i'll need to strip it down and give it a proper clean before I send it off to get sand blasted and primed.

Careful now, you're straying dangerously close towards 'the tailpipe fucking guy' territory now.
Please tell me you're not wearing your Mrs underwear whilst you scrub the bike in the bathtub.

Only problem is that a sweaty cycling butt will (eventually) make mincemeat out of the fur. It will end up looking like a balding polar bear's head.

I'm up to wearing five fucking tops under my cycling shirt, this is my first cycling winter so just finding my feet.

I need to do more research.

Goddamnit. Went to clean my drivetrain tonight and I've found that it's more grit than chain. Going to take ages.

No way I'm finishing it tonight. Will have to just do it tomorrow.

Decent base layer should set things up nicely. Merino wool all the way....

My problem in winter is my feet, yet to get round to finding some decent overshoes

Just ordered this the other day. I blame the chap a few pages ago that posted the link to that Canyon CX bike. Hadn't really considered them until then. Really excited about it arriving now. Should be great on my local sustrans routes.

Since I had my DVT nothing I can do seems to keep my feet warm. I'm actually tempted to go with some of those electronic (heated) insoles for particularly cold days.

Christ my road bike was as cruddy as fuck, there's this private road I cut through and it's a muddy pot holey mess, took me an hour to degrease, clean, dry and then re-lube, it's bloody tough trying to keep them looking new, pissed off that I have lost the end cap on my handlebar, might ride to Halfords when I can be arsed to see if they have any spares lying around, I'll super glue the fuckers in.

Is it supposed to be like this?
