I know loads of good ones, but based on the ones you listed there I don't think they'd be nearly expensive enough for you.

You can add that to your roadie video. :D

looking for one that is on the aero side without being ridiculous (like the rapha rain cape eg) w/high collar & long back. for high tempo training

The Rapha Rain Jacket is excellent. It's close cut, so there's no flapping, has breathable sections on the sides, and is small enough to just about stick in a jersey pocket. High collar, drop tail, rear pocket.

How long are you planning to be out in the rain for? I've never bothered with a rain-proof jacket, just got windproof, and it's kept me dry for all my local runs. Got a bit wet on a run when I was out from 8am to about 5pm and it rained heavily constantly, but on a day like that I think I'd have got rain in unless I was wearing a wetsuit.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

For winter or are you trying to find something that will suit for all year round?

Rapha pro winter jacket covers my needs, it's not waterproof but wind proof and with a light rainproof treatment. I tend not to head out if it's looking biblical so haven't had much need for a full rainproof.

Although I probably preferred that velominati 'rules' article someone linked a while back though.

Was that the where it states that arms are only there to stop your chest falling on the handlebars?

Just back from the Rapha Supercross event at Alexandra Palace, where my race involved throwing Curly Wurly's to the crowd, drinking 4 shots of Tequila, crashing, and sprinting so hard for the line I nearly did a sick.

    It was excellent.

Buy well, buy once. Life is indeed too short for shit gear. I try to think about it over the long-term. Good gear, whatever the brand pays back in terms of performance, and because it stands up to years of abuse.

All year round preferably, happy to pay a bit more for decent ones as they're not too expensive (for bike parts, anyway)

One of the following: Maxxis Highroller II, Continental Mountain King II, Bontrager XR4. If you live somewhere particularly wet, Schwalbe Hans Dampf.

got a capo lombardia jersey for autumn/winter training

nice aero fit, good styling & s/s but long with it so no gappy arm-warmers

the front isn't fleece-lined sadly but tht's not fatal
