    I know. I didn't mean at parties etc. I rarely socialise at all at the moment is all, even just with 2 or 3 people (or at least 2 or 3 people who are down with stuff like salvia).

    When I was at uni I was seeing people all the time is all. On the other hand it's also not a drug I'd want to take whilst I'm on my own.

    I'm extremely aware of that (pretty sure I've already mentioned that). What's your point?

    I don't hang around with many people who want to take salvia with me at the moment, so I haven't touched the stuff in a good while. It's not a social drug, I'm well aware, but it's also not a drug I'd want to take if I'm the only one doing it, whether people are cool being sitters or not.

    Quite simple. What don't you get?

    I personally believe salvia to be the single most unpleasant drug I have ever taken in my life. Quite terrifying, the automation and the despair that I was pulled into. Really don't think it should be legal. The thought of someone doing this on their own and having as bad an experience as I did really worries me. I know it doesn't last long in real time but I suffered an eternity of physical pain under that drug. Quite freaked me at the time.

    I used to say yes to most drugs, but salvia is the one thing I really don't ever want to spend time with again.

    ah but I'm a serious drug taker, with over 20 years of psychedelics under my belt. Acid was the first illegal drug I ever took (80s teenager). I'm no longer much of a dabbler due to other reasons, but I love ketamine, and nitrous. Dissociative drugs are my absolute favourite. I've destroyed reality and the universe and travelled in space and time and died and been born again.

    But Salvia is evil IMO. I've never known so much submersive despair, and it went on for aeons. I had had some wine before the first time I smoked it, so as a scientific explorer, I tried it a second time otherwise completely straight just to check and the fear came back so strong that I ran outside and started smacking the ground to bring me back out of it and apparently shouted "THIS IS WHY LOCAL*'S DON'T DO SALVIA!" (fresh air helped too, obviously).

    *names have been changed. No, really.

    I know people that have had amazing times on it. It did nothing for me though.

    Maybe you had some that was too strong? ie. more than 20x

    I had a bad trip on mushrooms in Amsterdam. Mostly my own fault, but I'm done with hallucinogens now, never again. I was terrified by how 'real' it all felt.

    It's got a mixed rep among my mates, I do know people who speak highly of it, but honestly - I know I can't stop anyone from having it but it's the one drug I wish I could un-take. So if I can put anyone off trying it and save them from a similar experience, then good. It was physically painful, and the automation and the "being pulled to the right" freaked the shit out of me - and I've watched my friends' faces melting for hours on acid, I'm not easily scared.

    Don't smoke the 20x + shit. If you're going to take it, chew the leaves. Little to no chance of a massive class 4 freak out that way.

    I dunno, acid was always a communal thing (for me), and you go in with rules and understandings, and no matter how much I've been fucked by it, a tiny part of me has always known I was on acid. So I could just be fascinated by the hallucinations.

    Salvia wipes all my awareness of this existence including anyone else who might be in the room with me, and sends me to a horrible place where there is no hope of salvation and all must suffer torment for all eternity.


    did I mention I don't like salvia? ;)

    I'm starting to think that you don't like salvia. Not quite sure why I'm getting that vibe though.

    Alcohol is enough for me these days - I'd rather have a few pints of ale in a pub garden than think that I've got spikes growing out of my spine and that the kitchen sink is being ironic.

    I really pushed everything for a while, but I think I might be done with it now.

    I can't afford it: financially, physically and emotionally. Aside from festivals, obviously. No rules at festivals.

    Some of those trip reports are absolutely mental. Half the people end up in hospital or jail, or both.

    The strongest hallucinogen I've ever done is shrooms. The first time was incredibly fun... my friends and I went on adventures and stuff. Awesome.

    The second time was like being ripped out of sanity's womb. Introspective hell is what it was.

    Datura, meth, PCP, crack and Heroin are the drugs I will never ever touch, and I do my best to stay away from the likes of BZP and stuff like that.

    DMT on the other hand is the one substance I would like to try but probably never will.

    Christ, some of those datura trips sound like the hullicinations I used to get when I was younger - I used to get really bad temperatures and start hallucinating. My mouth would feel weird and I used to just stare at the light & walls in my bedroom. Just thinking about it makes me feel uncomfortable and I think that part of the reason doing any kind of mind altering drug genuinely scares me.

    Got both of those the first and only time I did shrooms. Started off as the most terrifying experience of my life and then ended with me laughing in glee and wonder at everything.

    FWIW I'm now genuinely scared of the idea of dying/ceasing to exist/loosing one's sanity. Good times.
