    Great indie crime/revenge film
I really liked it. Kickstarter funded, IIRC.
Really? Now that is a Kickstarter you'd be proud to have backed.

    What.

    Brain.
    :D.

Fight Club ace. Face Off, bag of shite imo.

    I agree with this.

John Woo only got it right in Hollywood with the immense Hard Target.

Fair do's, each to there own. I'd put face off and MI2 above hard target very easily.

    Splinter

Very average clone of The Thing.  People seem to like it, not sure why really.  I wouldnt bother......

Whatever your opinion on John Woo, the films A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, Bullet in the Head and Hard Boiled are amazing.

I'd even use the word influential.

And Hard Target is fun too. As is Broken Arrow. Actually, all his Hollywood output is good fun.

Oh shit. MI2 is quite honestly the worst sequel ever made.
It's like a John Woo parody - every shot is like a slow motion shampoo advert, has doves, embarrassing Tom Cruise beach kung fu, awful casting, music, acting, script.

    It's attricious.
Face off is watchable, but up against Hard Boiled (my favourite action film of all time) its an embarrassment.

Hard Target is cheese, yes. But its great fun and a strong set up.

    Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

Fairly entertaining in places, not as gory as I expected and what a waste of Viggo Mortensen.

    2.5/10

Hard Target featuring Jean - Chance Boudreaux - Van Damme is awesome. This is fact.

Is that the one where he starts living with a woman and her kid? Because that was quite the opposite of awesome. It was awenone.

He was like a convict or something, and perved on the woman in her shower. True love.

    The Expendables 3(out of 10).

That was bad. They kept all the shit stuff but removed the good stuff too.
No hand to hand bone crunching violence. Just old me running around shooting people (no blood).
    Some very ropey CG.
Lots of fresh faces (but do the people that watch these films know who these MMA fighters are!?) that just suck ass.
And they need to stop with the 'one named actor as the villain' thing. It's hard to root for the good guys when it's 15 on 1 pretty much. Mel Gibson was alright but barely in it. Not as good as JCVD.

I enjoyed the other two for what it's worth but no amount of drinking could make this good!

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Well I finally got round to watching The Raid. I can see where the Dredd film comparisons arise.

I haven't seen a decent martial arts flick in ages, so this fitted the bill nicely.

    Ok. That one was shit.

Looking it up, Hard Target was the one where they hunt homeless people. And I remember liking that, though I don't remember much about it now. Probably time for a re-watch.

    The way way back

Something about this film didn't work for me. It has all the ingredients of a great film but just comes off a well stocked cupboard.

Waste of acting, setting and theme. It doesn't even work as a pure feel good fairytale.

    For fans of Juno

Van Damme punches a Snake right in the fucking face in Hard Target doesn't he?
That, or his fantastic pissed up dancing in Kickboxer are personal highlights of his movie output.

    Juno? Fuck off.

Way way back is decent. Sam rockwells performance of his career I'd say. He's brilliant

Sam Rockwell is great. He's not the problem. (Although I prefer him in choke or moon)

The problem is the empty posturing that the film falls back on repeatedly.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Sam Rockwell is an amazing actor. I like him in every film I see him in.

But I also think The Way Way Back fell short. A bit of vanilla coming-of-age thing.
