    Under the Skin

The most brilliantly weird film I've seen in ages. If you fed David Lynch a bag full of ketamine and told him to remake Species I imagine it would be pretty close to this. Really quite surprised at how good it was. Tonally reminded me of Let the Right One In at times but with a huge amount of weird added on. Also needs to be mentioned just how smoking hot Scarlett Johansson is in it. Loved it.

    9/10

I really need to watch that, it wasn't on at the cinemas long.

Does, uh, Scarlett get, uh, naked? Asking for a friend

    Who, me?

If so, I am not joking, my friend sometimes likes the idea of looking at certain ladies in the nip, but asks that nobody judges him

EDIT: seems it is coming to US Netflix on the 15th July, DNS fappers

No, I'm just surprised you don't know she gets naked in it. It's been embarrassingly over publicised, not least here.

The film itself is wonderful without her loverly boosums though.

I wasn't in the country during its run, I think. Maybe that's when it was embarrassingly over publicised.

    Bewbs.

Under The Skin is a stunning film. I would also recommend giving the book a whirl. It's final act is totally different.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Ok. The ending is completely different. It's more like Bad Taste. She's capturing humans so they can be butchered and sent to her home planet as food. I can see why they abandoned that ending.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Both book and film are fantastic. Very different.

The DVD/Blu-Ray for Under the Skin is out the week after next by the way, it's definitely my favourite film of the year and in the absence of David Lynch not really making movies anymore, nicely fills that gap for me.

Nice, looking forward to finally seeing it. Wasn't able to find anywhere showing it at the time, even in Glasgow.

Should be a steel case moulded from a cast of Scarlett's boobs, err, says my mate.

    Lawless

Tom Hardy mumbles a lot and mopes about in a cardigan, Shia LaBeef plays Shia LaBeef but a bit more tolerable than normal. Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowskawakowskakakaka are wasted, as is Gary Oldman only appearing in two or three scenes. Guy Pierce I feared from the reviews would be the worst thing in this but I actually really liked his performance.

It starts of strong and then just kind of slips in to neutral, ambling along until and unconvincing climax and a rushed epilogue.

Beautifully shot and scored, not surprising given the duo involved but... The whole thing left me a bit nonplussed. Is it worth seeing? Not sure. A bit middle of the road 6/10

Wow, well done, they're probably limited to only a billion copies.

5,000. All gone. Don't know if that's worldwide or just to Xavvi to be honest.

    Independence Day

We all know this is Roland Emmerich's masterpiece. A tribute to everything 'murica stands for. Anyone who disagrees is a filthy alien-loving communist.

    The Borderlands: 6/10

This wasn't too shabby! A small team is sent by the Vatican to investigate claims of a miracle at a church in an anonymous part of the West Country. It was really helped by the two leads - you'll recognise Grey from multiple Ben Wheatley films. It's nicely unsettling, and gets pretty creepy towards the climax.

The end freaked me out a little. Not a great film but definitely one to watch.

    Transformers: D'Movie

Fuck this is a long movie. I had a kip halfway through but managed to somehow keep up ;)

Anyhoo, probably good if you like this sort of thing? I literally have no idea.

Yeah, I wasn't totally sure what was going on! I'm sure there was a video game that put the player in a similar situation.
