Is there a definitive point where he lost the ability to open his mouth and talk properly?

Batman: Dark Knight Returns Part 1

Never really been into the DC animated movies but this really is something special and totally brings to life Frank Millers bleak and brutal world of Batman in his retirement years. I loved the comic, but this movie probably beats it imo and another Batman movie ever made.

Really looking forward to part 2.

    9/10

Was really looking forward to this and I ended up turning it off halfway through. Dafoe is very disappointing as the villain of the piece, he has no presence about him. The main character is a laughably big 80's arrogant moron. His new partner is anonymous. His former partner is 3 days from retirement. The soundtrack takes away from the movie, rather than adding to the scenes. Just a mess really.
Shame you turned it off. Does something quite brave story-wise in the last third.
Read up on it on wiki afterwards to see what I was missing. It is brave but I couldn't connect to any of the characters so I think it wouldn't have affected me. I did manage to switch off before the car chase though. Annoyed about that, it is Friedkin after all!
Not a big fan of that car chase personally. Ronin's is similar but better done.

I fucking think Jeff Bridges is a good actor and I fucking haven't seen much of his photography, so I won't form a fucking great opinion yet.

That film made me dislike Sean Bean in it, that is a hard thing to do.

Just got back from seeing Sabotage. No time to give it the attention it deserves. It's approximately 2.5 or 3/10.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I'm off out for a pub crawl which will last into the early hours of the morning. Any luck, it may have erased my memory of it.

One positive from it is that Arnie still looks badass with sunglasses and a shotgun. At least he'll look good in the new Terminator film.

Captain America : The Winter Soldier 6/10

Solidly above average Marvel fare (below Iron Man 1, Iron Man 3 and Avengers Assemble, but above everything else). I like the fact it's explicitly engaging with contemporary issues, even if it's in a really obvious way. Cap and Black Widow have great chemistry. Could have done with less running and punching but I guess that's par for the course.

Nice to see they're already laying the groundwork for a Civil War-esque storyline. If they do that right, it could be amazing.

Watching Arnie trying to restart his film career reminds me a lot of watching Kenny Dalglish looking lost wandering down the sidelines of Anfield like an Alzheimers patient. Only less funny obviously.

Sean Bean vanishes from the movie at one point and no one seems to notice.

    Blue Jasmine - 7/10

I really enjoyed this. The pacing seemed a bit off at points, but it had a pointed performance from Blanchett.

    Frank.

This is fucking brilliant. It's pretty close to my heart, some of the topics dealt with in this, yet it does it with whimsy, humour and also feeling and just generally fucking brilliant acting and writing.

My film of the year so far. 92/100.

Not seen it yet but I just think it's a bit odd having him played with an American accent and having the film set there.

It becomes clear why in the film

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I thought the fights were brilliant, and the dialogue was hammy as fuck. Overall it was fun, but too long.
