He had a bit of a renaissance about a decade ago with things like The Insider and Insomnia, and proved he still had it. Admittedly it's been all shit since then.

Him and De Niro are both in the new Scorcese, so we'll see then if they can still do it.

Are they? That's cool, I didn't know that.

And surely it's less a case of can't get the good parts, and more keep taking absolute shite like Meet the Parents 3 and Jack and Jill. I just see no reason to take those types of roles aside from money. You don't see Redford churning out shite like that, and he's still making films.

He's great in the Insider as far as I remember, but I thought he was good in Insomnia too.

He was awful in 88 Minutes, though the whole film was pretty shit. I liked him in insomnia though.

Was Harrison Ford ever really a great actor, though? I really like the guy, and enjoy most of his old performances, but I still wouldn't say he was ever fantastic

I can't watch him now I've watched Rob Bryden and his impressions on The Trip.

PS: new series is on, it's more of the same impressions, but in Italy.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

I though he was excellent in Frantic.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Harrison Ford has always overdone the physical acting bits for me. Wide-eyed, exaggerated gulps for air, clumsy OTT grasping. Fine for stuff like Indy, but he does it at the end of Blade Runner for example and it doesn't fit.

Charisma is exactly it, he has it in spades but it basically always felt like that was making up for his otherwise unexceptional performances to me. In other words, why I like him but don't really rate him

Ford hasn't been in a truly great movie / role. Blade Runner is grossly overrated claptrap.

He was also great in Witness. And Working Girl.

One of these things is not like the other.

Going to watch something on Netflix but don't know what. Here's a shortlist of stuff I think I might be in the mood for:

    Jesus Camp
    Dirty Wars
    Tangled
    Manhattan
    The Hunter
    Thief

Someone make the decision for me, thanks

    /blize

Oh, I have The King of Comedy and Days of Heaven on DVD too.

What was he like in Mosquito Coast? It was so long ago I've forgotten.
    Also What lies beneath.
They were quite far away from Han and Indy if I'm remembering correctly.
