Is that because it was the decade Alien 3 was released?

I do love all the cold war paranoid films that came out in that decade, there was a great raft of quality in there.

You are a factory of sadness.

    Jack Reacher - 5/10

Most of the points are for the pretty brutal fight scene in the quarry. My problem with the film is Tom Cruise. I'm not a book wanker so I don't care he's nothing like that, it's just another film where Tom Cruise is an acting robot. There's never any personality in his acting, he just delivers a performance with no imperfections, no charisma or flair. Just a functional one every time and it grates me.

He is the Frank Lampard of acting.

    I don't care.

    I'm fucking hyped.

I rather liked the last 3D movie that came out a few years ago.

It looks absolutely awful. Megan fox is awful, Michael Bay is awful and those turtle designs are awful.

Other than that, yeah, cant wait.

    13th Warrior - 90%

I was quite suprised, alot of reviews said this film was terrible, but I really enjoyed it. I read the book a while ago, 'eaters of the dead'.
Banderas played Ibn Fadlan well, the action scenes were good, as well as the sets. The North men are similar to how they're depicted in the book. Had a good balance of mistery, action and intensity throughout. I'm sure someone will put me in my place about why this film was apparently terrible, but I can't see why. Maybe i'm just a sucker for Vikings

Because Antonio Banderas learns fluent Viking in a few weeks and looks like he stepped out of a Turkish bath the whole time.

It's better than Outlander though, although that had Ron Perlman and John Hurt in it.

Is Outlander the one with the guy who crash lands his spacecraft in Viking times?

I gave up on Prince of Persia after about five minutes of bullshit California 'middle east' crap. Felt like an episode of Hercules The Legendary Journeys but without the playfulness.

I did as well, but I knew it was trash when I watched it.

The best Viking film of recent years is How To Train Your Dragon.

Ben Kingsley in the most obvious twist ever. No good man wears eyeliner like that.

Lol totally. I was a good few beers in by the time I got home and turned it on, and even in my inebriated state I rolled my eyes within the first five minutes.

Mars Attacks is a $100m movie parodying B movie conventions.

I saw Mars Attacks at the cinema when it came out. About half way through the film broke in the projector. I was glad.
