    The Dinner Party 3/10
    Suffered from over-reliance on the climax.

    Three Men and a Little Lady 3/10
    GF's idea to watch it. I tried hard, but I just couldn't get into it. Stiff as a plank by the end.

    Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 6.5/10

    The apes are superb, most of the humans are not. James Franco manages to look even mopier than he does in the Spiderman films, the only really good performance from the humans is from John Lithgow. Brian Cox is solid but hardly a main character.

    The story is fine and certainly better than the Burton version (though I hardly remember it) but it does take its time getting going. Once it does kick off though some of the action is very well done. The section from the escape through to the face off on the Golden Gate bridge is very impressive.

    Worth a watch on the big screen, but doubt I would give it a repeat viewing.

    ... this is not the place to be talking about my plight. Let's go back to film(s) please.
    Yes let's do that.

    OMG! What a name from the past. Great and silly horror film, I must hunt that down for a re-watch now.

    For those that don't know as it's 25 years old now

    Think the person who did the voice over for that trailer worked on every film trailer in the 80s and 90s.

    @fletch7100

    I'm pretty sure that's Hal Douglas, the man was the voice of Hollywood, In a world full of trailers he pretty much voiced them all.

    He died recently though :(

    All the President's Men. 10/10

    I still consider it the best film ever made. Even though it's 40 years old the subject matter means it doesn't look old considering you don't see a gun or any need for CGI. The acting is nothing short of sensational from the likes of Jack Warner and Jason Robards. I read they decked out the set of the Washington Post exactly like it was, even buying the desks from the same firm. Stunning film.

    If you like Redford should check out Sneakers. It's on UK Netflix. From the 90s with a great cast. Is on my favourite films list even then it was giving off a warning about the NSA.

    Thor 2, 7/10. Actually better than I expected, quite enjoyed that, even if I still can't get on with the Jane Foster stuff. Liked how they introduced more of the Marvel universe.

    @khaz

    Three Days of the Condor is absolutely fantastic!

    Ah, for the days of the 70s/80s espionage thrillers :( I think I've said it on here before, but the last film I can remember even getting close to the sort of atmosphere/tension as 3DotC, or The Conversation etc., was actually Enemy of the State. That's a pretty sad inditement, even though I like the Smith and Hackman film, since its damn near 17 years ago now.

    Three Days of the Condor is on my list to watch. And Barefoot in the Park is great, I love that film.

    Watched Ghost Town last night, was good. I didn't like Birch's character much, thought she was a pretty big bitch by the end tbh. Buscemi was good as always, his angry driving rants made me laugh. Didn't end the way I was expecting it to, or maybe even hoping it would. Enjoyable though.

    7/10
