Booked tickets for The Hangover Part 3 earlier today.

    Just read some reviews.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Not looking forward to watching it now at all. Might call up the cinema tomorrow on the (unlikely) off chance they'll exchange the tickets for something else. If not I guess I'm stuck with them.

Not as if it was really unexpected to be total arse though, was it?

Best review I've seen thus far said "It makes Hangover 2 seem like Hangover 1".

I heard it is more a bad action/adventure flick than it is a comedy.

I honestly don't see how anyone can seriously expect the format of the Hangover to satisfy three films.

    Star Trek Into Darkness 9.142/10

Thought this was awesome. Cumberbatch was superb throughout and my favourite crew Karl Urban had a decent amount of screen time. Couldn't really fault it, just a solid 2 hours of great entertainment.

The more I think of it, the more I didn't like into darkness. I miss old trek, even though it was largely crap, which is something I wasn't quite expecting to feel.

May go and see it again, might have just been in the wrong mood.

Objectively speaking, Into Darkness is a shit film.

But, being a Star Trek geek - like me - makes up for all of that. So, I loved it.

Well, the formula (plot structure at least) is totally different in this one. For a start there is no wedding, no alcohol (apparently) and thus there actually isn't a hangover!.

Thing is I actually - unlike most - enjoyed Hangover 2, plenty of laughs, even if it was basically The Hangover in Bangkok.

Like ronuds says, less of a comedy this time round (people and animals die) and it just sounds quite dark and depressing. Too much of a focus on Chow and Alan, who work(ed) best in small doses.

Anyway, Cineworld can actually cancel booked tickets so long as you rebook something else. Went for Fast and Furious 6 which sounds very stupid but a right laugh.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Not as good as the first film, mostly because of the annoying woman, but it's still a cracking watch.

Yeah, critics reviews for this sort of film are pointless. They're obviously not going to like it so asking your mates/user reviews is probably the best indication as to whether you'll like this one or not.

Saw The Hobbit on a flight as nothing else to see. Negativity had put me off seeing it upon release, and was expecting it to be boring and padded out. Was v surprised, I really enjoyed it.

    I agree, but:

    - no mates I know of have seen Part 3 yet.

    - seen plenty of comments from normal cinema-goers who didn't rate it.

    - going to see Fast 6 instead this time round which all signs suggest is more enjoyable. Have a few mates who've seen it and reckon it's a lot of fun. If I didn't have this option I'd happily see Part 3 anyway. I don't pay much attention to media critics unless they, as a whole, don't rate a particular film/game. In this scenario I'll consider if it's really worth my time. I found almost no positive reviews for Part 3 and they all state that it's less of a comedy, and without the comedic element it loses so much of its appeal.

    Fair enough.

It's a shame. Whilst not cinema masterpieces, the Hangover films were definitely above average comedy films.

Can't think of the last genuinely hilarious film I saw in the cinema actually, there's definitely a bit of a lull right now.

    Manborg - 0.5/10

A film so bad it's torture to watch. Goes down past the "so bad it's good" level and plunges itself into the depths of hell itself. It seemed like the prefect accompaniment to Blood Dragon as well.

The main dude is fucked up big style by Count Draculon and then resurrected Robocop style. He comes back and fucks everyone else up instead, with a little help from his friends.

The cast of characters as pretty much as follows.

    Manborg = Robocop.
Count Draculon = I dunno. I'm sure its a very subtle nod to some other well know character. I can't quite work out who.
#1 Man = Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat
Mina = Nina Williams from Tekken
Justice = Luke Goss from the Bros days

There are probably load of other references to video games and films. I missed these as I was too busy thinking about different ways I could end my suffering. Yet, for some unknown reason, I had to watch it till the bitter end.

One of the worst films I've ever seen.

Cover - I've not seen Iron Sky so I did not know if the statement was a promise or a warning!

Here's the fucking trailer as well. Tell me if this doesn't look as though it could be a something in there that would make it a fun watch. Iron Sky must be utter fucking shit as well.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Well, I saw The Nagover Part 3 last night and really enjoyed it. It's obviously not as good as the first but I thought it was better than 2 (which I also enjoyed). Chow is in it a bit too much and there's more of an emphasis on action but not enough to stop it from being funny. If you liked both of the other 2 you'll definitely like this one. I'd probably give it an 8/10.
