Indy film with a great cast but a not so great collection of scenes. As a whole it works but falls down a little as the dialogue isn't as snappy or fun as the classic noir style films.
Extra point for Carla Gugino lezzing it up in tennis gear in the rain. -

Registered 12 months agoNever get why people walk out of films they've paid for. Even if the first hour or whatever is less than gripping, I couldn't even begin to judge something that I've seen less than half of.
And I've almost never seen anything that was so bad that I couldn't finish it. Your Highness came close. -

Lawless - 2/10
It also seems to have a running time of forever. I wasn't paying that much attention after about 30 minutes. The only redeeming feature is that watched this at home so I could fast forward through it. -

That's another thing I don't really get. It's a rare film that I want to see at the cinema more than once or twice. Unless a lot of time has passed. -

The only criminal thing about this film is how utterly boring it is."
Um the ONLY criminal thing about your review is that you are allowed to post in this thread.

Registered 2 years agoYeah, beastmaster, everybody's still got their stiff one-eye out for Jessica Chastain thanks to Zero Dark Thirty so it's not a good idea to give a film with her in it less than 9.5/10. At least for now..."You see it too? For me, it's always like this..."

Lots happens actually and its rather good. U have to remember that the main character who mumbles is a hillbilly and the photo at the end shows some retardation to whatever degree. Obviously the producers needed to avoid this aspect as much as possible.
Its a cracking film.99 problems and being ginger is one

Swearing, cockney accents and mindless violence. A complete brain out film that I really enjoyed, what more could you ask for?

Judge Dredd (The newer one)

Registered 5 years ago@FWB Are you seriously saying you thought Dredd was a good film? It's just bad, bad, bad on so many counts. So much potential but it just gets it all wrong, it's Robocop 20 years too late.
But even worse is Battleship, who bank rolled this garbage? Some of the worst acting and plot lines I've seen in a modern day film, even the special effects couldn't save this 1/10

Saw this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are plenty of nods and winks to gamers at the start and unfortunately they get less and less through out the film but its still a great movie with a lot of heart. -

Maybe you are on a date and would rather be getting it on instead? The shit film is simply delaying the inevitable, so why not leave and get on with it.

The Doctor (1991): 7/10
William Hurt plays a surgeon who has very little sympathy for his patients until he's diagnosed with cancer himself. He's given some perspective about life as a patient, which prompts a shift in his approach to doctoring. Great little film. -

Well done for completely missing the point. Why bother offering an opinion of a film after fast forwarding through 90% of it?

We don't have those here, but ok. A film would still have to be very, very dire for me to walk out on it an hour in. But that's just me!

Time to play 'Correct the Film Scores!'
DREDD - 8/10 (I am hoping with all my might for a sequel)
Lawless - 6/10 (The Proposition and The Road are both quite a bit better than his latest film)
Lincoln - 9/10 (Spielberg should really do some more historic biopics ... boring, this was not)
