I now have this strange urge to rewatch all the previous Batman films.
I could make it my Christmas project

@beastmaster is that the beef endorsed version of Stake Land?

Strange film all in all. Main kid annoying. His mentor not quite cool. The whole thing was a mish mash of nods. Yet it isn't awful. Like you said, the use of teeth as currency is inspired. The daft cultists notsomuch. And the desperation to have an antagonist sours the mix somewhat.

As for the other thing. Yes, they're really something :D

I fucking loved Stake Land. You are right that it's mostly a bunch of nods and references to other stuff though.

I've watched it two or three times now. I still don't like mini Keanu (the kid from that Revenge show on tv). But something about it compels me. Plus it's got Bruce Willis' daughter from Last Boy Scout in it...all grown up.

I have this massive weakspot for post-apocalyptica so I'm biased to the teeth. Stake Land was tailor made for me.

Me too. But it's quite hard to find anything I find hits the spot. Stake land for all it's failings, did. And is a damned sight easier to watch than The Road.

This Stake Land whatsit looks pretty good from the trailer. You can definitely tell it's not big budget though, not necessarily from the footage but from the way the trailer is formed (font, quotes etc).

People really should learn how to do it properly, otherwise it looks well cheap.

    Get bent.

    Sinister

Creepy and unsettling, but not in a scary way. It's mostly just unpleasant, repetitive and overlong.

    6/10

Ok. But I do find that kids succumbing to peer pressure of obvious complete shits to be a little stale. 6/10

The BBC version that was on telly last Christmas is waaaay better. I'm not even sure why this new film version happened given that it's a joint BBC production.

I didn't get the prearranged signal. Northern humour is too complex, all those layers.

    Look out Roy "Chubby" Brown!

@Goodfella it's like a gory version of The League of Gentlemen.
Clearly has some money behind it. Strangely.
