French language movie about...well, about some stuff.

If you love long lingering shots of a bloke taking his shoes off and hanging up his coat, this is the film for you.

That makes it sound like I hated it, far from it, but, I wish I'd seen with in the company of others so I could discuss it. It's a very layered film. Good performances and not very sympathetic mains. It requires you to be extremely observant. That's if you even care by the end.

    8/10
Did you watch the end credits?
    I certainly did ;-)

    Potiche (2010) 8/10 to 10/10

ĎIsnít life great..í - What Potiche does canít be faulted. The acting, the camera work, the sound works so well. Itís very good feel good film. The only negative, the story didnít mean all that much to me as such. Everything else is great. To be fair they donít seem to make films to this standard much these days. Gťrard is great as per usual, even if he is putting on a bit of weight in his older age.

    This! Cracking film.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

    Warhorse - 5/10

What the fuck was going on with the lightning in this film? Light was reflected into actor's faces in just about eveyr shot, often coming from the most ridiculous points, like under a horse's belly. This totally took my attention away from the story, which was so cloying and overbearing it often felt like a pastiche.

Still, it wasn't too terrible and did pick up a bit during the actual war part of the film. I felt more attachment to the old French dude and the German horse keeper then the British lead, who looked like a brochure model and emoted about as well.

I'm at an utter loss as to why this film was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

Spielberg on autopilot and his sentimental worse.

I couldn't even make it through the recent Lincoln trailer. Torture.

His trademark filmmaking is annoying now. A good film will still be good film though, but his direction and Williams scores bother me like that Wilhelm scream that idiots still put in films for the lols or something. Distracting.

The first one is passable, next two are shite and this one somehow pulls it off. Surprised. How do you rate the others?

TDKR - a better film at home. Although now the sound mix is very much in Banes favour and everyone else is a little muted.

Snowy Gotham in 1080p is quite pretty.

Heh I went along to this on Friday, for wooing purposes mainly. However I quite enjoyed it. Some quite funny moments (some intentional some not) and a great fight scene (later ruined!)

As you would expect it is overflowing with shots of lingering lovey eyes and some dodgy dialogue. Not awful anyway.

Haywire - switched off halfway through/10

Weird one this. After the excellent Headhunters this is just crap. Got bored halfway through. Just meh.

    Sinister
Holy shit I feel violated
A not terrible US horror film. Written by some dude from aintitcool.

It's, disturbing. Dare I say, sinister! The soundtrack alone made me uneasy. Obviously a tad predictable after the 2/3s mark. But not too shabby.

Funny enough I've just watched Haywire. I made it to the end, but it was a strange one. It had the makings of a good film, but some odd pacing and weird music choices spoilt it. I found it ok, but that's about it.

Agreed! Saw it in theatres but enjoyed it more by myself.

Say... Anyone else notice Batman broke his "no guns" rule when he shot the driver of the truck with the nuke at the end?
