Apart from the slightly weird knowledge that you are watching a murderer, they are still hilarious. Not the best bits of the film, but a nice bit of variety.

They were funnier in the first one (particularly the bit right at the end with the wheelchair, and the best visual gag ever right at the start when he attempts to kick down the door on the boat) than the second - I thought the "trapped under a car/bus" thing went on a bit too long, but still good.

Lovely, just lovely.I really need to find a big old radio and a tape with Peter Gabriel´s In Your Eyes.An Ipod with portable speakers would not have the same effect.

Admittedly the only reason I watched it 3 times is because I'm doing an essay on Film Noir.

But still, it really is a damn good film.

    And watched Se7en as well.

    95%!

Possibly the greatest genre in US cinema. Especially the post second world war stuff.

    What's your essay on GS?

Just explaining how Neo Noir relates to Film Noir basically.

I chose Brick as my example surprisingly.

    Get bent.

Ace Ventura: when nature calls 8/10

Not my normal kind of movie, but i must have seen this 5 or 6 times now, and it still cracks me up.

It was on UK Gold with ad breaks appearing what seemed like every 15 mins, and i STILL watched it all the way through.

I don't like this 100% thing, can a mod just change it to the old /10 style?

    Anyway, The Invasion 6/10

It's entertaining and watchable, even if whats her face looks like a barbie doll. As usual parent child acting at the beggining of the film is utter trite, but the story is allright, with a usual deus ex machina for the cure finding. Best bit was the editing though, loved the cut styles and they way time is messed with on certain bits, and choosing unusual things to focus on each time the same action is performed, 10/10 for the editing, but the film is only entertaining in a time wasting fashion and the acting is pretty shit.

Transformers (Region 1 DVD) - 85% very enjoyable action flick but the same issues from the cinema pervade. Not enough Robots and then when they are involved that horrible close up chop edit makes it impossible to appreciate them.

Some lovely set pieces and nods to the original though. For instance never noticed "to punish and enslave" on the side of Barricade's Police car in the Cinema..

This thread sucks ass. Why make this thread when there is an almost identical thread already avaliable? Just want to know why Knocked Up got a review score of 34% and not 35%?

    28 weeks later.

    7.5/10

Not actually that bad. I thought the first one was a bit meh, but this worked quite well even if it did hop around London in 5 mile leaps.

    Dated?

It was always corny and over the top.

I mean, Will Smith is in it.

    The Host

    7/10

A verry different take on the monster movie genre.
No gung ho super marines with plasma rifles, no snappy one liners. Definitly no Will Smith saving the day.

Instead it's a more gritty, realistic often disgusting portail of a monster tearing up Seoul. Vaguely reminded me of Half Life for some reason.
With a group of avarage people trying to survive and defeat the beast. A really weird one but brought to life in a verry convincing manner with some really nice effects.

Weird, disturbing, creepy, touching and funny in unexpected places. The story does have some pacing issues though, but then that seems par for the course in asian movies.

Definitly worth seeing though and it's probably safe to say you haven't seen anything like it before.

Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End

92% (extra 5% for Keith Richards)

As an overall trilogy its up there with Indy and Star Wars for me now. Never wanted to be a pirate as a kid. Do now though. Brilliant.

    What what what

The last 40 minutes aside (which were admittedly awesome, with some of the best cinematography of recent memory) the film sucked ass. 2 hours of meandering plotless nothingness that did absolutely nothing but stretch the characters paper-thin.
