    As a slight counter to that - I've found that with Coup and four players is a bit processional. Too easy to spot tells, over a little too quickly. With a slightly larger group (say six) it really came alive for me.

    It's only ever an opener game though; a little warmup thing.

    @rice_sandwich When did you do it? The shop was in Golders Green. There were green rubber bands around the cards.

    A hidden game that I have and like is Shadow Hunters. It's basically Infernal Affairs crossed with Castlevania.

    Another scenario of Gloomhaven and another game of Inis today.

    Good times! Absolutely adore Gloomhaven, but we take way too long to play it. Will be trying to hurry things up next session.

    Inis is growing on me a lot. I can imagine after 3 or 4 plays I'll really like it but it's not nearly as good when you don't know any of the cards to watch out for.

    Speaking of London (second edition)

    They talk about it briefly on the new Shut up and sit down podcast, around the 28:30 mark. Quinns wasn’t exactly glowing about it but it was still interesting to hear.

    Bit more Dragonfire gushing from me... I LOVE IT.

    Finally beat the first quest of the campaign on the fifth attempt. It's so bloody hard it was almost too hard but so rewarding when we finally beat it. I would highly recommend doing absolutely everything in your power to overcome this challenge for those of you that have the game or end up buying it. Don't just leave it to the draw.

    Carefully consider your party order and stickers. Guaranteed at least one of you needs caravan, preferably 2. Don't ignore simple looking stickers like getting 1 extra gold at the beginning. For certain characters that can be the difference between affording the flaming oil or not (and you absolutely need it for that quest).

    I think Dragonfire is my most communicative cooperative game, the debates around the table are legendary. Such a simple concept, but great puzzles every game. :D

    Picking up the 4 player Arkham Horror playmat within the next few days from Chaos. Happy days! Bit of discount too as a Feb promo.

    Bloody internet scalpers though; Jesus wept.

    The moment anything FF goes out of stock they’re asking stupid money. I’m not paying an extra 50% RRP I’d rather wait for the next print run. Twats.

    How does it play though? Mrs Nem didn’t quite like Star Wars Destiny so this may be on the radar.

    I have no idea, I just googled it after it was mentioned above.

    I'll try Sagrada out tonight and give some initial comments. It's a fairly light, fast playing dice puzzle game. I believe an expansion is coming.

    I set up a test game of Sagrada and gave it a try.

    Basically, it's great, a game that anyone at all can understand within about 5 minutes and enjoy. It's at the lighter end of the spectrum but I wouldn't call it a filler. Adults and children, if they can count to 6 and tell 5 different colours apart, can play together. Colour blindness could be an issue due to red, green, blue, violet and yellow dice.

    You draft dice from a pool and have to place them on your personal board according to two restrictions: dice of the same colour cannot be orthagonally adjacent, dice of the same number cannot be orthagonally adjacent. Some spaces on your scoring card (of which there are many) are marked with particular colour or number requirements. Some scoring cards are easier to complete than others - you get more points for the harder ones at the end of the game.

    Scoring is variable via three publicly visible cards drawn at the start of the game. Each player also has a secret scoring card. You lose points for any empty spaces at the end of the game. There are tool cards which you can pay for with tokens to let you break the rules.

    Pretty much an essential purchase for anyone looking to have a balanced board game collection that doesn't include only medium or heavy weight games.

    I'm dead keen on Sagrada. I really want a dice game and after looking at a play through it just seemed like a lot of fun.

    Playing Flamme Rouge opened my eyes to the joy of lighter games. Or maybe I should say more focused games.

    Sadly they didn't have either Sagrada or the Flamme Rouge expansion at my local game store today. Otherwise I'd bought one of them.

    @Tonka

    It's important to have some lighter games in the collection. Not every game has to be super complex. We only tend to play more complicated games on the weekend. The only very slight negative against Sagrada that I can see is that the end game scoring isn't immediately obvious. It involves counting sets of dice (e.g. 2 points for every set of 1&2 dice or five points for every set of all the colours etc.) which isn't the most intuitive thing.

    Managed to tick off two of my board game bucket list today, with copies of both Runewars and Warrior Knights dropping onto my desk. I've wanted both of these for yeeeeeeears. I am excited.

    Deception is brilliant. One of my most-played social games. Just received the expansion from Kickstarter last week.

    Stuffed Fables came home with us today. Mrs Nem loves Mice and Mystics and it's by the same designer.

    She's over the moon with it so far. The book is also the map, figs are superb. Just lovely.

    Did really well to hold off. Although got close to buying Viticulture EE.

    Hardback turned up today. I've just had a run through the rulebook and am looking forward to having a crack at it soon.

    Fields of Arle expansion and Aegyptus and Creta map for Concordia. I'm done buying games (excluding expansions) until Reykholt comes out.

    Just looked at stuffed fables, looks like it would be amazing to play with kids without being to simple.

    Always tempted with mice and mystics but heard the combat can be fiddly, hoping for this to be improved for SF.

    @Gregolution One of my favourite games, though it's a bugger to learn. Try the app first.

    @1Dgaf

    Interesting. It's so cheap. Is the base game enough fun or are there expansions that really improve things. I know there are quite a few expansions...

    @Gregolution

    It's good but not easy to learn due to the icons on the cards. I gather people have a high failure rate trying to learn it.
