Sugar is sugar, but is also unfairly demonised. Sugar isn't fat.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

    No.

Sucrose is not Glucose is not Lactose is not Fructose etc etc. The body processes, handles and metabolises them all quite differently.

I'd be more worried about the crispy pancakes and baked bean burritos than a banana anthony.

And let's not forget anthony has bigger problems even than his diet.

For instance, that he's a card carrying window licking simpleton with blizeh tendencies.

    To summarise:

"Popcorn. Okay for a snack every once in a while. Not really worth mentioning otherwise because it's like eating air."

I honestly thought this thread was getting bumped because someone else had discovered Tescos Sweet AND Salted flavoured popcorn.

Good Lord that stuff is good.....

He'll be back with something like 'Thought I'd try an internet start up, anyone got any business ideas?' or 'Crowdsurfing looks fun, are there classes?'

Here's interesting: my bag of slightly salted popcorn contains 87 calories, but is only 20g.

So weight for weight, lasagna is better for you.

I picked up some really nice Worcestershire Sauce flavoured popcorn from Wholefoods near Regents Street. I can't remember the name of the company but they had a range of unusual flavours.

He doesn't use it himself though. The force of the popping corn can cause him to swoon.

That reminds me that I have popcorn maker (Xmas '02 gift or thereabouts) + some corn to go with it. The corn has been kept in an air sealed container for about 5 of the 10 years I've had them (the last 5).

If I pop them and eat them plain am I likely to have rank popcorn, same bland air puffs as from fresh corn, ... ? So many questions.

The look and smell should give you a good indication.

They found grains of maize in Egypt inside tombs. They were perfectly useable and edible, and they were several thousand years old.

worcestershire sauce popcorn? sounds stinking to be honest.

    these look great, S+V flavour:

is there such a thing as powdered flavourings to add to your own home made popcorn?

a bit like salt n shake...
Yes, I have a pile in my cupboard - but they are horrible, would not recommend (probably going to chuck them - pm me if you want them.)

Can't beat melted butter and salt.

This isn't too bad. Keep the mixed flavouring in a jar, and keep, don't use it all at once - the lying cow clearly didn't make this, 250g of popcorn would fill your bath.

It might be a bit too dry and not pop very well - you might get a higher proportion of unpopped corn. If you get a lot, chuck it.

Great, I've found my Mastermind subject, Popcorn.

This genuinely made me laugh. Old school Blackadder references = well done Bladders.

Salted popcorn is the food of the devil, utterly awful. I saw chocolate pretzels have returned, not as nice as Flipz though.
