Registered 11 years agoEnjoyed it a lot, the Esprit will always be "my" Bond car as "The Spy Who Loved Me" was the first Bond I saw at the cinema when I was seven. Not that I'm an old git... *cough*
Glad we didn't see the Turbo version's demise in "For Your Eyes Only", that always seemed to be a terrible waste for a shite gag.

Registered 6 years agoI saw the description "Hammond builds his own submarine car" and thought it'd be predictable shite. Worth catching up with then? This post is unsuitable for those with a high rumour-sensitivity.

It wasn't for the gag, the main reason was to show Bond was stripped of his gadgets. It was the producers trying to bring the character back to earth after the excesses of Moonraker.

Registered 5 years agoHaha, "On the show, May is known as “Captain Slow”, for his careful driving style, a love of small, underpowered cars and habit of getting lost and distracted whilst driving, which is typical of a twink."

Seems legit.
Edit* Well, linking from that site does not work at all(It's a badly 'shopped picture of Obama performing a sex act on a twinkie).

Registered 4 years agoYep.
Deckard should probably read that last article, although I believe his dogs are actually openly gay, it's just their owner who is in denial.

Registered 6 years agoJust seen James May on The One Show saying that Top Gear's "Christmas Special" isn't on until March next year. Is there no Top Gear this Christmas at all? Apart from Doctor Who, which is quickly losing its appeal, the Top Gear special is pretty much all I watch.
Still, at least James May apparently has a Toy Stories Christmas Special, that'll be good. Thank fuck the Beeb hasn't cobbled together another ill-fitting Richard Hammond vehicle in which he treats the viewers like we're all retards. -

Registered 9 years agoChrist that was weird I read your whole post in Richard Hammond's voice but didn't realise I was doing it until I read "Richard Hammond" at the end.
Fuck now everything is doing it!

Registered 8 years agoBut it's been on for 10 years and they've done over 100 episodes, they've done everything, anything they do is going to be predictable because they've done it before."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Zapp Brannigan

Registered 10 years agoThey could do a task well. That'd be a change. I'm just a bit bored of the scripted fuckwit pantomime they wheel out each time.
It's still entertaining but i don't think i've raised a smile at them for a while. This signature intentionally left blank.

Registered 6 years agoNothing wrong with Top Gear the way it is. It might be formulaic and repetitive to some, but it's a formula that I particularly like. God knows I don't want it to return to the shit show it was before the revamp. -

Registered 11 years agoYeah, they bucked their ideas up a bit a little while back, although I dunno how much of that was due to their own embarrassment at the predictability of their output, and how much it was an outcome of cutbacks meaning less episodes and so less filler (and less money for explosions).
So, I assumed this had been bumped because they're showing teaser trailers on the telly at the moment, which usually means its 2-3 weeks away. Any news of a more concrete date?
