    Or it means the trigger spammer gets lucky and beats the guy who's pacing his shots. This argument has been going on since Reach came out. I can see both sides.

    I enjoyed Reach's mp, and Halo 4's, and 3's and 2's. They're all a bit different, the changes/tweaks have never been an issue for me. Mind you, I've always been more of a singleplayer guy and viewed the mp as a nice bonus, not the core of the game.

    I'm not sure what my point is. I should probably go to bed.

    @kinky_mong But in games where everyone is good it just ended up at the person who shoots first gets the kill. I'm not saying bloom in general is a bad idea, but to put it in Halo games its terrible. There are different/better ways to make the game as or more skilled than Reach without using bloom, as i said before Halo 3 was way more skillful of a game and it had no bloom at all. Why do you think they toke bloom out of MLG, if it apparently made it so skillful?

    The bloom in Reach was a nice idea, done badly. I'd prefer it not there, so 4 is an improvement for me.

    4, if they took out AAs and 'perks' (they're really not that bad - AAs are the chief game-changing thing) and concentrated on maps that felt like they were made for MP, and not 'oh look, how realistic, a fight in an asymmetric research lab that nobody gives a toss about', would be perfect - ranking et al is merely trappings. As it is, it's still good fun.

    I'm pretty tempted to buy the map packs for this, but just wanted to know how common they pop up in playlists? Are there figures to see how much they've sold? I remember buying reach map packs and only getting to play them a few times due to not many people having them.

    I hardly ever come across them, but then again I don't play the game anymore, so not sure. They had playlists for the latest map pack last time I was on but they weren't populated much.

    1st map pack wasn't so popular, the playlist was removed however the maps are added to the rotation for existing playlists. 2nd map pack has two playlists. FFA had 300 people last night. Team playlist had 800.

    Castle pack is out in April I'd expect the 2nd pack to be swallowed up into the existing playlists as well.

    You will come across the 1st set of maps but it depends on what playlist you select

    The first set of maps come up pretty often in BTB. Not sure if the second maps have been added to general rotation on 4v4 Slayer yet.

    Not yet. They will once the castle map pack comes out.

    Once all packs are out they should have permanent playlist for DLC maps.

    This was a request to 343 made from their own comms forum it should happen they are pretty good at implementing genuine requests where feasible

    When are the new maps out for this? And what happens to the Majestic playlists (and by extension the linked achievements) once they're out? I've not played for awhile but still need two achievements on them.

    8th of April I believe. The playlist will disappear and the maps added to existing rotations.

    No idea about the achievements though

    10,623 currently online.

    Halo 2 had the best multiplayer but its downfall all started with Bungie so i hope 343 go back to the drawing board for Halo 5.

    I can't believe how much fun big team slayer is. You get time to think as opposed to cod et al. Funny that I never tried it in any of the other halos.

    Team slayer is pretty much all i play. Good fun but tend to get stuck playing the same few maps.

    @Baihu1983 Holy shit that's terrible lmfao. After 3 years of Halo 3 the population on social slayer alone was better than that hahah.Lets hope Halo 5 more like 2 and 3. I highly doubt it will be though.

    Halo 2 had NO competition. Halo 3 only had CoD4, which took a big chunk: Halo 4 is far from perfect but pretending that all that needs to happen is for 343 to ape 6 or 9 year old games and suddenly have the old days back is simply delusional.

    I get that you might not like Halo 4, but the way people go on... Jesus.

    this has always been the problem with halo, they are quite happy to play the same 3 maps repeatedly for hours I can only imagine they lack imagination.

    Its always exile, ragnarok or haven.

    @RedSparrows That fact is, most people like the old Halo games more. I'm not saying the population would be AS good as 2 & 3 if they made Halo like them again, just that the population would get a huge increase. With Halo 4 they have completely ignored its competitive and older fanbase which is the reason Halo 4 is doing so terrible lol. Reach was never this bad and it had plenty of competition. I have been playing and loved Halo games since I was young with the first Halo, but now I've had to move onto BO2. I thought I would always be a Halo player.

    Halo 4 hovers around 35000-45000 at peak.

    People have moved on to COD and now BF. Halo just hasn't found a way to progress yet. The map packs and playlists leave a lot to be desired which doesn't help. The numbers are so low they can't go around splitting the user base, they are too late, roll on Halo 5.

    They have to make massive progress on new hardware, come out the gates running with a solid feature set and plan. No pass for 343 next time. If they actually make it a fresh start this time around, they might get somewhere. I don't think I could take another Halo so rooted in Bungie Halo outside of basics they nailed.
