Well Halo 4's population will keep dropping, unless they improve on the unbalanced guns and they playlists.

I am really not seeing the DMR as a problem. You do know the BR was king of Halo 2 and 3, right?

The DMR only takes maybe a third or half of a clip to kill an enemy Spartan (on multi-player) whereas the battle rifle seems to not only take longer, but uses more ammo [to kill] too.

I think some of the Covenant weapons are a little bit weedy ... could try giving them a bit of oomph.

    Looking forward to Monday!

Again, since when were all Halo guns equal?

    Never?

It is just a question of fine tuning the balance.

The whole 'choose your weapons selection' before a match makes it a little unbalanced so-to-speak.

I liked starting with a pre-set load out and find the rest upon the map itself, but then again I like the old fashioned way.

Oh so do I - the loudouts exacerbate the issue that one gun is better than another, but ultimately everyone can pick the DMR, and I'm not sure I've found it as bad as some say.

I didn't realise how often they said Crimson until some pointed the Crimson out of it...Crimson.

New map looks pretty good. I've actually quite enjoyed Spartan Ops on Legendary matchmaking. More please.

DMR is lethal and at very long range, or anywhere on maps probably makes it an issue for some.

I enjoy using it but does make people hang around in areas and not move around or fight very far away which kinda changes the flow in maps or lack of.

    Someone say Crimson..

Crimson, get on that Crimson, good luck Crimson, all right Crimson, hey Crimson, we have a signal Crimson, Crimson here...

If I Crimson it until Crimson comes out of my Crimson, does that mean that I'm Crimson? or just a bit Crimson.

If you're going to complain about an overpowered loadout weapon surely it's the Boltshot?

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

As primarily a DMR user, I can honestly say that I get nailed more often by the BR than the DMR.

As I've said before the DMR is overpowered because it's got the most aim assist, bullet magnetism and the best at long range. It's not an opinion if it's overpowered, it's just simply overpowered. Also if there are loadouts which unfortunately there are, all the loadout weapons HAVE to be balanced.

Why? The BR dominated all small arms in 2 and 3, as i said.

i would prefer it, but there is no limitation on what you can pick. Also, once again, i don't think it is overpowered so much as more versatile.

Yeah the BR was far more over powered in 2 & 3 compared to the DMR in 4. Personally I have no problem with it at all. I've said it before that in close to medium range I find I get killed far more often facing someone who's using the BR compared to some one who uses the DMR.

I also don't really see much of a problem with the boltshot, if you're stupid enough to run head on straight into someone when you know there's a change someone is using a boltshot/shotgun then that's your fault not the weapons.

My main problem with the DMR is that the zoom lets it lock down almost every BTB map. Its ridiculous how much it breaks Valhalla.

If they reduce the zoom or the accuracy at range, it would fit in fine with the sandbox.

I've just finished the campaign. Interesting.

So basically 343 is now free to step in any direction they choose, from a gameplay/narrative perspective. Killed Cortana, made MasterChief 'human' again and/or the next villain?

I have not found Ragnarok broken by the DMR. I am not sure what you expect of a big open map - the LR can fire even further.

That big open field to the left (facing blue) often ends up being used by players sticking to DMR pot shots and ducking behind their respective rocks, rather than charging into proper combat.

I wouldn't say "broken" either, it's just different.

...and the BR did that on 3, albeit perhaps with slightly less range.

I sssoooooo cannot wait until Spartan Ops restart tomorrow!

I on purposely left my character at level forty-nine just so I enjoy tomorrow even more!

The new 'smaller' 4 vs 4 map(s) need to come out as soon as possible too.
  • Deleted user 20 January 2013 20:37:27
Yup, looking forward to the forge playlist too. That may have some strong smaller maps in it but I guess that depends on player limits.

The BR in H3 has bullet follow so it was about a million times more skilled to use (especially at range) than the DMR. I don't see how anyone can defend the DMR, it's just a fact that it's overpowered, if there wasn't loadouts, then yeah fair enough, it's ok for it to dominate the game like the BR and DMR in previous games, but when you look at the fact that there are loadouts, the weapons in the loadouts HAVE to be balanced, which they are not. And when I use the DMR, the only time I get killed at shot and mid range is by someone else using the DMR lol.

You do know that repeatedly stating that it's "fact" doesn't make it so, don't you?

I've always felt a weapon is overpowered if, in the majority of given situations, with all other factors as equal as possible, you'll win with that weapon. I don't feel that applies to the DMR at all. You get rushed and it's not ideal. If you have to move about inside a building, it's not the best weapon. Yes, there are times where it's the best weapon to use, but there are also times where it's not :)

That's just my opinion, of course. That's all I can really share, is my opinion based on my gameplay experiences.

You have to download a 2.21 GB add-on before you can play the new episode.

The first chapter alone is fairly epic, especially the Phantom battle at the very end.

    It is sssoooooo great ...

    Best. Halo. Battles. Ever.

The third and fourth chapters of the sixth episode are grin inducingly brilliant...!

It marks the return of (the original) Halo inspired big huge open areas and I love it.

    *wubs*

I somehow managed to reach level fifty once I had finished the last chapter too ... talk about perfect timing! I chose the 'Pathfinder' specialisation after plenty of um'ing and ah'ing.
