I like Corrine Yu. I can imagine her saying "Yeah. It's good, but it needs to be bit faster" when each build of Halo 4 came in. There's an interview with her here. Her brain works at least 10 times the speed of mine:

Corrine Yu. Less than one minute into an interview and I am talking about Rasterisation Engines or summit

Thanks Nasty. Not fussed about the classes but the spartan ops missions I wouldnt want to miss, although I did have a hunch these were included in all versions of H4.

Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Please someone explain something to me. I have ordered the collectors edition but the only reason was for the free maps packs. But Amazon are now doing a 'seasons pass'for the map packs. If I buy the vanilla version of Halo 4 and then the seasons pass its cheaper.

As I dont want the crappy film with the collectors edition does this seasons pass give all the maps for free or what.

    Confused.
Well, you could also just buy 2100 points for even more savings.

Everyone, Standard or Limited Edition gets the Spartan Ops season for free.

LE has some avatar stuff, in game skin for Spartan and weapon, exclusive emblem. That film and some other booklet stuff.

Season Pass is three map packs with three maps each.

Specializations, LE has access to all 8 from launch, standard edition only gets 2 but the others will be released over time. Check this link for info on what they are.

Think I could live without them for the time being and you can only use one at a time and have to level up each time to get a new one.

If all that and the shiny case is worth the extra 5 or so over the standard and pass at launch then go for it.

If you preorder from Game you get the specialisations anyway. So, really, the cheap option is to preorder from Game and buy a cheap 2100 points card.

Plus you've bought it from GAME. I we'll all know.

I'm after the LE from HMV, personally. All the content plus the Locus helmet, and some purple Avatar armour.

If anyone wants to look at the IGN walkthrough of Meltdown, which they accidentally posted and then deleted, you can still find the video here:

Figure of 8? Reminds me of Icefields.

Can only be a good thing.

The game looks fantastic, graphically. It was hard to really look at anything in the five minutes I played it at the Expo.

Was there a map a little like this in Halo 3? A short bridge over a shallow canyon with vehicles..? Or am I thinking of something else..?

    Nice looking map,

I'm pleased they had at least one other large vehicle map to go with Longbow and Exile.

Looks to be quite a nice initial selection for Big Team Battle.

Still concerned about the seemingly small amount of tight Slayer maps.

So far I think we have 4 small, 4 large and 1 medium?

Seems about right to me. I'm guessing the last one will be another medium sized map.

10 maps does seem few when you consider the variety of gametypes. Doesn't COD always ship with 14 maps? And there's no vehicles in COD.

That's my only worry really. That we will have all played the Slayer maps to death within 2 months. Game itself looks great.

One more to be announced I think. Maybe that will be one?

Nothing really seen of the other Forge environments. As it's most likely we'll be playing loads of variations of them over the next couple of years I'm hoping they really are that different from each other.

I think Reach only shipped with 7/8 maps, the other five or so were variants of Forge World.

Ten maps and three forge environments could amount to quite a lot of content. It boils down to whether there will be preloaded forge maps I guess, and whether they're any good.

I haven't been this excited for a game for ages. No other series do I consume every scrap of media leading up to its release. It says something about me that the game I'm most excited about this year is a game that's least likely to surprise me.

I do love me Halo though. Shootyjumpyspaceninjaing ahoy!

I really, really hope one of the map packs has the caves map from Halo 2.

I'm just happy my favourite covie gun is back. Not that I don't love the fact there are new weapons, but the Carbine has been a good friends to me for so long.

@DFawkes Apparently it has the fastest time to kill of any of the available starting weapons, if you can land all the shots.

    Interesting.

Whilst I am still wary of loadouts (spawning with plasmas is never a good idea, IMO) etc, I do like that there are 4 precision rifles available to play with - no more hunting-for-the-BR bollocks.

That forge stuff looks really good! I always liked to try and build maps but i'd always get frustrated lining everything up perfectly so yay for magnets! All the stuff to prevent accidentally moving objects will be really handy too but I believe there is an undo button if it still happens.

I think the forge maps wont look as user made as they did in Reach. All the metallic plates and walls being set on grassy fields and cliffs just looked stupid but with these, seemingly, themed objects they should fit a lot better.

Quite looking forward to Forge now, i'd basically forgotten about its inclusion.

Great space environment, but am I the only one who is disappointed by the actual UNSC Forge pieces? Graphically, they look bland and even more colourless than Reach's Forge stuff. The white structures look like placeholder art; lacking in detail and aesthetic tangibility. As good as Relay's actual design is from a multiplayer game space perspective, I think it looks visually basic and just not very good. It stands out like a sore thumb next to the other, official maps.

Yeah, I expect the bland art style to grate after a while but at least there's actual shadows cast by the pieces now.

I suppose they are doing enough to get by with Forge until next gen or MS hate user creativity. Looking at Valve, Trials etc. success it is something MS should get behind. There is always room for official maps.
