This was announced in this week's Famitsu, but I overlooked it yesterday. The official site is now open, though there's not exactly much there yet.

Sounds like another survival horror adventure, for 360/PS3. GAF's translation tells us thus:

    - player is a young recruit in FBI, investigating a murder in a quiet rural town
    - game has a morning-day-night cycle and the people of the town change with this cycle
    - there is something in the town that is not from this world, apparently

To be unveiled at TGS, so I hear.

The health power ups will be "Damn Fine Coffee" and "Cherry Pie".

    This space left intentionally blank.

Do you have to develop your own M.O.?

First pictures via Famitsu. Includes scantily-clad lady! A dead scantily-clad lady, granted, but gamers can't be picky.

Survival horror appears to have been a good guess. Looks like it's going to be something of an Alan-Wake-a-like.

It's hard to tell much from those shots - they're too small and too blurry. Hopefully we'll get some proper details at TGS.

Translating the page reveals a few details (and a lot of garbled nonsense). Seems there'll be a 4km square area to explore, filled with people going about their normal every-day business, and a proper day/night cycle. You'll need to keep your guy fed and rested or he'll get tired and not be able to go on. The town 'changes' dramatically at night - apparently the murderer that you're there to investigate is 'not of this world'.

There's some camera footage here but it's in 'MP4 for iPod' format and I don't seem to be able to convince anything to play it. Anyone got any ideas? Aside from "buy an iPod".

Oh, wait! The flash version streams okay.

Looks... all right. Nothing special. Seems to have some scary oompa loompas. :-D

What the hell? A red room and a dwarf? Seems like Whizzo was right.

Aye but whizzo makes it sound far far far better than it'd ever possibly be.

    Twin Peaks RPG would rock!

Can't believe what a blatant rip-off this seems to be - the setting, the young agent, the local sheriff, the red room and the dwarf, the murderer who's not out of this world. That goes way beyond an homage. Cheeky. Bet it lacks the humour though.

That's ridiculous. They may as well have called it Twin Peaks by the looks of things!

What would Lynch think? He'd probably find it pretty amusing.

Theres a video up on the Japanese Marketplace.

How much like Twin Peaks did they think they could make before people went "hang on a second... this is'nt very original. At all."

Fire Walk With Me. THE GAME.

Still if it ever gets released outside of America I know ill most likely buy it, its my perfect kind of game. Batshit Japanese titles with some really strange and grusome moments.

if they really want to rip Twin Peaks they'd have to make sure the second half of the game could only be played once :-S

Good god its a rip off. I doubt Lynch would be too impressed, and I very much doubt hed ever allow a game to be made. He owns the cerative rights to TP, and recently stopped a graphic novel being made to go in the upcoming DVD box set, as he didnt want to continue the story.

ESRB have rated the game for PS3, as well as Xbox 360. (There's a more recent thread, I'm sure, but just can't find it with the search - else, the update was added as part of a thread with some relation.) Deadly Premonition is this games current name.
