Overrated, IMO. How old are they all now anyway? It'll probably be pretty embarassing to anyone apart from hardcore fans.

Some of their stuff i don't go a bundle for but they have moments of genius moreso than many bands. When i was 15 i spent 6 months with nothing but Led Zep in my Walkman. Led Zep 1 is still one fo my favourite albums ever.

    Awesome.

There's no point in me saying what I think about Floyd, no one'll agree with me! :p

    Dear oh dear.

    Anyway.

Shame its at venue that has possibly the most broken sound system in Europe.

    A terrific band I personally don't like listening to because I can't stand Plant's voice. :-/

The news has got round the office. About seven machines all on youtube playing different Led Zep tunes.

To be fair, I'm willing to put it down to not hearing them until 25-30 years after their records came out. I suppose it might be a bit like watching a Sergio Leone film now in that it'll be incredibly cliched and unoriginal to you, even though at the time it was innovative and amazing and has influenced so many other artists.

Oh, I love Sergio Leone films don't get me wrong, but elements of them look cliched today because of their influence on every Western ever.

Well, they do! The cameras at the eyes of the good guy/bad guy before the shootout... all brilliant stuff then, but because every Western has done it ever since, it's lost the impact a bit.

If you would say something along the lines of "I think Pink Floyd are the number two* most overated band in the history of the universe" I'd agree with you.

*first place goes to the "fab" Four.

edit: I haven't got any grievance with Led Zep though, some of their stuff is rather good

What, that I don't like Led Zep or Pink Floyd?

I DO like Sergio Leone films BTW, I'm not slagging him off at all.

You must be joking. Their influence in almost every genre of music since is unparalleled. Maybe you don't like the songs, that you can't help, but saying they're overrated is 'wrong'. They're highly rated and for damn good reason.

No, I meant posting "Oh dear oh dear", no matter what you say. Like above. Sorry, I'll stop now. Maybe. :)

What don't you like about Floyd? Just to check if there's room for some sort of anti-Floyd alliance here. ;)

Speaking of which, grayson needs to get back in here. I got the impression he isn't too keen on Zep either.

I like their stuff from after they stopped being a pop band (Sergeant Pepper's basically), if that helps restore my reputation somewhat. ;P
