    buuuuuuuuuuuump!!

Currently watching some bullshit documentary on BBC2 about the new St Pancras station opening. A 5 minute News24 piece stretched out to a 5 night series of half hour specials - the words "Scrape", "Bottom" and "Barrell" come to mind..

No where near as bad as Summer of Noise on ITV, which is again one of those stupidly cheap "let's follow someone doing their boring jobs" shows that inexplicably are on at 10 o'clock. Usually an hour that I thought was associated with "alright" programming.

This one follows people who keep tabs on noise pollution during the edingburgh festival. So not a lot of complaining then eh?

close, but I reckon mine still beats it. At least with "the sound of noise" there's a slim possibility of things livening up as some noise pollution officer knocks on the wrong door and gets a good beating with their own decibel-o-meter

I've just spent 10 minutes watching 'The Wright Way'. A Ben Elton "comedy" on BBC now.

I like Ben Elton's novels, Blackadder and the Young Ones. But this is terrible. Detritus. Frankly, shit. It's so far used the words 'erection' and 'lesbian' with wanton abandon because apparently, 1970 has been dialling the BBC everyday requesting them.

It treats viewers as though they are all Jeremy Kyle watchers, even though it's not on BBC 3, the BBC's usual resting home for this level of unfunniness. David Haig shouts all of his lines. Monotonously. With exactly the same delivery every time. It makes My Family look like the 8th wonder of the world.

My frontal lobe is going mental, urging me to commit very violent acts to the TV. Please, everyone, never, ever, ever watch this pile-ridden shit. Thank you.

@kentmonkey I had a feeling that might be the case. Thanks for the warning.

I presumed it would be exactly like the thin blue line but without rowan Atkinson, so avoided it

It's worse. Far worse. It's the worst thing I've seen on TV in years.

I'm not even hamming it up for dramatic effect, it's appalling. The acting, timing, delivery and script are awful.

Saw a tad of it waiting for Air Force One to start. Dire stuff. Not that most of what passes for comedy on TV these days is much better. But that was beyond awful. Laughter track didn't even match any so-called punch lines.

Just watched Eastenders on catch up. If I had a kid as annoying as Tiff I think I'd send it on holiday to Portugal with the McCanns.

I was quite impressed that despite closing TV centre, the Beeb can still produce stuff that looks exactly like it did in 1987.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Wow. I expected bad, but that was beyond awful.
Awful writing, awful characters, awful direction, awful acting.

Find myself watching that Wright Stuff again waiting for Metro to start. You know what it reminds me of? The sitcom Gevais' character produces in Extras. It's as though someone took it seriously.

Anyone seen the new Catchphrase? Good God, ITV have ruined it!
They have an unnecessary elimination round at the start with 3 contestants, 2 ad breaks, a shit presenter, answers that are not even Catchphrases (Wizard of Oz? Fuck off, that's not a Catchphrase!) and they changed the Super Catchphrase from a square of letters to a pyramid of numbers. You only need to get 5 answers to win 50,000. I've seen 2 people win 28,800 which was just piss-easy money!

Just watched the latest Catchphrase on Sky+ (and by watched I mean skipped all that chatting crap and the ad breaks). Here are some of the so called Catchphrases they had:

    - The Only Way is Essex
    - Facebook
    - Shooting Stars

Fuck off ITV! Those are NOT Catchphrases!

Watched Catchphrase again on Sky+ today (because fuck watching this for 45 minutes) and two of the catchphrases were The X Factor and Spice Girls.

ITV, just fuck right off! They have a celeb version coming up too which will last an HOUR. Just... no!

New catchphrase seems to be even easier than old catchphrase

/monkeys in an office wearing suits

    'Monkey...business?'

    /5 prize

I love that the top post of this page is six years old but is the catchphrase of the lawful wright way character. Perfectly tied together.

What is all this Jackpot late night TV shit? I remember the days of Night Time when they used to have programmes like The Little Picture Show and James Whale.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

@beastmaster dirt cheap to produce with premium rate phone lines. I hate it too. In the sky+ age there is room for quirky repeats and oddball shows like never before
