I was just glancing at some of the comments made on the PS Blog and amongst the general rage saw one that says 'God i love dinosaurs'. Made me laugh a lot more than it probably should have done. :p

Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a fantastic little game, highly recommended (unless you have an iOS or Android device, in which case I'd recommend those versions instead as they're cheaper).
It's in the latest Android Humble Bundle too (only hours left) which is where i got it and it's pretty good.

According to the PS Blog there's a public beta for All Stars Battle Royale for both Vita and PS3 owners to apply for until 4th September.

    http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/08/29/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-public-beta-incoming/#more-80169

Is that old school Cloud in the screenshot or am I just blind and suffering from wishful thinking? Edit: Nah, it's that Ape Escape character. Just went back and enlarged the image. :p

(Posting in multiple threads so people don't miss out on applying.)

Anybody know if Alone in the Dark - The New Nightmare is coming to the UK Store?

Unlikely given the licenses that need to be passed through. Not impossible but like I say, not likely. I haven't seen it requested much either which counts against it.

Isn't AITD-TNN already on the US Store though? What's the problem with bringing it to the UK Store?

Now this is a question we have all been asking ourselves since 2007. There is no sensible answer.

This will give you some insight.

More information on PS1 imports here.

Useless fact of the year: PS1 imports started on 5th October 2011 - 16 PS1 titles have been released under the banner (including Resident Evil 2/3, Alundra and all the Arc the Lad games)

I've used hdmoviesource.com a couple of times - good prices, but codes take about an hour to arrive and it is fairly clearly a manual operation. Play-asia are expensive but offer a very good service; their price is only really good on Japanese cards, though.

@cozeny - it's a mixed bag TBH. The JRPGs should all be fine, although any 3d games look pretty rough by today's standards

The Abe games are still amazing.

    As are JRPGs (Grandia, FF)

Crash Bandicoot holds up well, as do the Spyro games.

I hope Peace Walker HD comes out next week. I'm playing the Vita versions of the HD collection at the moment, and it would be nice to round it out with that and it'd nice not to play the PSP version.

Avengers Chronicles, Marvel Pinball Originals, Marvel Vengeance and Virtue, Zen Pinball Classics, are all £7.99. Each pack contains 4 tables. Then as Hidden mentioned, £1.99 for the Plants vs Zombies table.

I've never played MGS 2 or 3 up to now, any opinions on these? From my liimited googling, I gather that 3 was better received, but I imagine it would benefit to play 2 first; or does that even matter in an oddball series like this?

If you want to play the series, you are probably best to start on 1, and go through 2 then 3. I don't think 2 is terribly standalone. However, if you are after a one off, I think 3 is best. In fact, I think 3 is the best in the series.

It's a prequel, and it does have loads of winks to the series fans, but it's also not as stuffed in the mythology mess that nearly every other game in the series elicits.

@TheBrow I hadn't played any MGS properly before February this year, played 1-4 in about a month and now it's one of my favouritse series of all time. I would certainly recommend playing through the whole series if you think you'd like it but if you're unsure i'd say MGS3 would probably be a good place to start, chronologically it's the first in the series so you shouldn;t get anything spoilt for you really and it is many people's favourite (I think mine might be 4 but i'm still unsure). A cheaper alternative would be to get the first PS1 game, should give you a good idea as to wether or not you'd like the rest of the series.

@chasejamie - any you've already bought in Zen Pinball 1 or Marvel Pinball will work in Zen Pinball 2 on PS3 and Vita for no extra cost, apparently. You have to download the Zen Pinball 2 version of the tables, though.
