On behalf of my wife, who is struggling with the privacy settings, how can she go about setting things so that only her friends on facebook can see anything about her, she has unwanted relatives etc keeping tabs on her life and wants to eliminate this.

I don't have a facebook page so don't have a clue, googling does not reveal a simple answer, is there one?

@freddymercurystwin Section 3 - it should be quite straightforward.

Got some people on FB that do nothing but spout political shit, whatever it may be. It's starting to annoy the fuck out of me. There's so much of it's getting tiresome. Some of them are very PC too.

I think I'm going to suggest pages to them like 'I Like Tanks' or 'Geek Girls' just to try and lighten them the fuck up.

Nothing worse than people who think being "politically activ"e means re-posting junk on Facebook that they haven't bothered to fact-check.

I have what is considered an inactive account. It sits there collecting dust and cobwebs. I JUST went back to it to see if I missed any messages - I didn't. All I missed out on was invites to Farmville, Bejewelled, and other games I didn't ever look into.

OK, have things sorted now I think and got everything on Friends only setting. Am I right in thinking though that you cannot hide the previous conversations/comments bit? We can only hide new comments posted since we made it friends only, if you get my drift?

There should be an option to limit the visibility of past posts too.

Click on the little cog/flower icon top right of the desktop version of Facebook. Takes you to :privacy Settings and Tools

3rd thing down in Who can see my stuff? should be the limit past posts option.

"Just 'share' this picture and you will get very good news soon. Even if you don't believe just 'share' it once and try. A lot of people have benefited from it."

You have got to be fucking kidding me! How sad, pathetic and insecure an existence must you fucking have to post this?

To be fare I've seen so many pics of hot women with not many clothes on with the usual 'like/whatever' and see what happens next and know shit all will happen but somehow am still tempted, can see the more gullible fall for it.

"like farming" is one of the worst irritations of Facebook. People don't seem to realise that at best they are being manipulated into someone's ego boost, and at worst, identifying themselves as potential gullible marks for marketing or phishing.

/98% of people will be too scared to post this on their timeline, show you have the guts, pride, and fullsome genitalia to share this truth now, etc.

The worst one's are those 'name a colour that has a b in it. 90% can't. Can you?'

This is winding me the fuck up a bit.

"Andy Murray, the first Bit to win Wimbledon in 77 years...unless woman are people, too... Virginia Wade, Women's (UK) Singles Champion, 1977".

Comes with picture of Wade with her winners plate or whatever the fuck it is. This has been posted by a couple of my female Facebook friends.

FFS, you stupid fucking bints, they've said all the way fucking through that it's the first MENS winner in 77 years. Or do you just fucking conveniently forget that fucking shit?

    Pah!

Due to creating a fan page shortly after fan pages launched, I've managed to somehow end up with 11,000 odd followers for Fun House (the shitty show with Pat Sharp), with most of them in the mistaken belief that I actually am Pat Sharp, including slightly creepy messages of people begging for updates on what the twins are doing now, along with requests to meet them.

@beastmaster Actually there have been a lot of "First British tennis player to win Wimbledon for 77 years" comments in the media. Even Cameron did it.

@meme Die you remember to let the twins out of your basement before you emigrated?

If Facebook is annoying you it probably means you're on it too much.

I'm on it too much but most of the time, I think it's great. Which is why I'm on it a lot. Just the sheer stupidity of some of the things on there is dumbfounding. Even for someone as easy going as me, I find it annoying.

Got to be a way to make money off that - contact the twins and pimp them out? Sell bits of Pat Sharp's hair - any hairy bison near you?

It does also beg the question...why did you make a Fun House page...
