Just bought a pack of five Mach 3 from Sainsbury's for nearly 9.00 and decided that I'm not gonna pay this anymore, there's got to be somewhere much cheaper.

    Where do you get yours?

They'll probably keep ramping up the price on the mach3 blades to make everyone switch to the 27 blade fusion!!

Some good deals for them come up every now and then at http://www.hotukdeals.com worth bookmarking if you're a bargain hunter anyway :)

Superdrug generally. Much of a muchness really though. I only get the 4 packs though, they last me ages anyway!

Savers usually has good deals. 5 for 9 is ridiculous though, especially for regular mach 3's. I get can get five Fusion blades for less than that.

My stubble is incredibly sharp and I could do with shaving twice a day (although I only shave once every other day due to the cost of these things) and the blades last at most five shaves. After that they're really blunt and scratch the shit out of my face.

Other people I know get away with the same blade for nearly a month, my hair must be titanium or something!

Yeah, but don't you find they're shitty after about 3-5 shaves? The first time with a new blade is absolutely awesome, and it soon descends in to face-tearing crap. The next gimmick needs to be longer lasting blades, but I don't suppose that would be very profitable for them..

Savers is Superdrug for poor people. :D They are owned by the same company, Superdrug is the "premium" branch, and has much higher prices.

I know a lot about it all, because I have a friend who works for Superdrug, and our local Savers has just been converted. You probably wouldn't get one in London..

Nah, my stubble isn't too bad, shaving with blunt blades isn't too much of a problem. Plus I tend to leave it 3-4 days before shaving which means the hair is softer. If I had to shave every day then it probably would be like that.

Found the new titanium wilkinson sword jobbie to be pretty good at hacking through thicker hair, better than my mach3.

Downside are it cuts my face to shit and the blades are so close together they clog really easily.

The search for the perfect razor continues, until that time I may consider trying to grow a beard LOL

I sometimes grow a beard, every 6 months or so. :p I like how I look with a beard, but it pisses me off. I don't feel clean unless I've shaved.

Didn't realise Savers were Superdrug! Think there is one in Peckham that the missus occassionally goes to for the odd good deal.

I must admit I am really tempted to build one of those pyramid things that, when positioned correctly, is meant to sharpen your razors overnight by the moon vibrations or something like that.

It's probably absolute bollocks but the Egyptians did it, I have the dimensions somewhere and for the sake of 2hrs and about 5 worth of wood, I think I might give it a go! :o)

You know, I have never used a proper razor. I've only ever used my electric Phillips thing. I really should try it one day.

Looking for a new gaming podcast to listen to? LOOK NO FURTHER!

Can use a fresh blade every day if you go disposable, and nothing is as good as that.

Disposables are just as bad. Try this plus these.

They look a lot a nicer - are they much better than yer typical Gilette Mach 3 things?

Thanks, I've been looking for alternatives to Gillette's razors, sick of having to replace their razors after four/five shaves.
  • Deleted user 15 May 2010 18:19:34
Miles better than anything like them that I've ever tried. I've only ever got one good shave from those multiblade razors before having to switch blades, with this I get several days worth, it's better quality and less skin type issues.

It seems to be a lot harder to cut yourself as well, just start on the safest setting and move up until you're happy with it.

Be a man and grow a beard!

My northern blood in me forced me to do it when I got sick of paying for razor blades. Although I've got a Philips electric shaver that gives a decent shave around my neck line now that my skin is used to it.

If you can get away with it, don't shave for a week. Have a really hot shower beforehand and I find one blade will last for months.

    Fuck you Gillette.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.
