|@Slurmseh try Pissing Razors. (the band, I'm not suggesting you go out and get a bout of the clap)|

|New Gorguts has to be album of the year, fucking incredible.|
Are you familiar with their older stuff? Their third album, 'Obscura' (yep, the band took their name from it ) is the dictionary definition of a complete mindfuck, one of the most unique metal albums you'll ever hear.
If they float your boat, Ulcerate are also worthy of investigation - "Confronting Entropy"
It is pretty fucking ridiculous how close some of the tracks on the new Avenged Sevenfold album are to classic metal tracks.|
Others are pretty good.and catchy in their own right.
Still a big shame they never lived up to the promise of Waking the Fallen.
/prepares for verbal assault for daring to suggest they were ever anything other than utter shite

New Satyricon album, I went in expecting to hate it after all I'd read. Actually quite enjoyed it, will listen again!|
Can't wait for Carcass, Skeletonwitch and Toxic Holocaust! What a killer month!!
|I'm listening to it now - sounds... different.|
I'm a grumpy bastard.
wait till you get to "Pheonix"!!! hahaha|
To be honest though it's still got some great drumming and a Satyricon sound, just ain't BLack Metal any more.
Picked up a Gamma Ray twin pack of Insanity and Genius, and Land of Free. Excellent albums. Can't believe I left it so long to grab them.|
I need some new decent/original power metal. Its crap having to wait for the big three (Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian and Helloween) to release a new album just because everything else out there seems like generic uninspired shite in comparison.
Thats actually pretty good, thanks! |
It's a shame they haven't put out an album in 10 years though. Can't help thinking that proves my point.
Ignore me, I'm grumpy.

That is true, but at least their small volume of work is stompingly good.
I am also grumpy tea is taking way too long to cook, starving here!
First time I've heard a Lost Horizon song, quite enjoying Pure right now Pretty much gave up on modern day (much prefer the classic stuff) heavy metal 5-6 years ago, as it was all sounding the same to me. Am willing to try out new bands though. |
|Never heard of Enforcer before, but am 4 minutes into that song and it's good, and definitely sounds like Iron Maiden which is a good thing|

|New Carcass album is fucking immense.|
I like that, sounds good and works very well. Makes me want to eat pizza for some reason! |
Oh, had a couple of listens to the new Carcass and it is excellent. Not earth shattering for me personally but I have always been more of a "Reek of Putrefaction" and "Symphonies of Sickness" era fan anyway.
Yes! A new Insomnium song 'Ephemeral' taken from the upcoming EP!!!|
