Started a crowd fund to help replace this computer. If it dies again, I'll lose so much and will most likely hang myself.

I didn't have an external HD until today...someone is kindly loaning me one until I get enough money together for the new computer.

My wife having cancer has really decimated my finances. I've not been able to work as much as I'd have liked but thems the breaks.

Thankfully, she was declared cancer free yesterday :)

I was considering it but the lineup is just - for me - too weak to justify the expense of two people + VIP (woman tax) + vast quantities of booze.

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

No lineup will ever be perfect. This year just happens to have a lot of thrash, not that I'm biased or anything!
Doing the vip though, couldn't resist the beer lineup

I remember with a mate talking to the guy who organised Bloodstock back in 2005 when it was still in a hall in Derby. My mate was a thrash fan and wanted to know how he could could start a similar thrash orientated festival. The guy said it was expensive and would never happen because British metal fans didn't want thrash. He said Bloodstock would always cater to power, prog and folk fans.

I think the good thing about bloodstock is they cater for everyone's different tastes, be it death metal, black metal, thrash metal, heavy metal bee gee (?) cover bands

Just looked at the Bloodstock line up... too much thrash for my liking. The only bands that slightly tickle my fancy are Gojira and Hell and maybe LoG. Never been a fan of any of the thrash four apart from pre-Black Album Metallica.

'Look at you, hacker: a pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?'

    Link

Well, for what it's worth. I decided to start a fund to help me get a new recording computer. Since my wife diagnosis I have not been able to work as much as I had to look after the kids.

My current computer is on the way out and I just can't afford to replace it without some help.

So, if any of you guys are inclined to buy some music (lol who buys music right?) or would like a guitar lesson, check out the link posted above.

    Thanks.

Yeah, I'm quite a thrash fan too - but Slayer's basically the Kerry King Show now, and he can sod off.

Yup, Anthrax being announced pretty much confirmed my attendance at last year's BOA. Early birded and thoroughly looking forward to it. Saturday is a bit sparse for me, but at BOA that just means campsite drinky time.

Has anyone head the Phil Anselmo and the Illegals album? I listened to a couple of tracks. It's... weird. Drumming seems very weird to me.
