Metal people of EG, I need your assistance.

Please listen to this 30 second clip and let me know what you think of the organ part 0.06 before I slip a noose over my head.

    Thank you.
Fuck I wish you lived near me, been looking for a guitarist of your calibre for fucking years.

Edit: Anyone got the new Tesseract? It is a masterpiece!

I heard some of it and I liked what I heard. The singer was a little off putting but I can grow to like his voice.

Do you need some parts recorded? I can do them and send them over.

    Cheers for listening!

'Resist' is my fave off that album so far, but the whole thing's amazing. I really love the new singer, the first guy was ok but verging on emo occasionally. This guy is a proper singer.

    Will PM ya.

Are you talking about Tesseract? The new singer is exactly the same as the old singer but with more emo.

    Get bent.

I get where you're coming from, I suppose 'screamo' would be a better term. The screamy bits on the first album didn't suit it, whereas the new guy has an excellent voice, better range and much better lyrical talent.

First album was 'good', this album has put them at or very close to my top spot.

    @Progguitarist

I've finally recalled why the organ bit sounded so familiar to me. To my ears, it's like the lead guitar at the beginning of Testament's 'So Many Lies' - about 24 secs in.

That riff over the top of the organ still has me head bobbing, it has a great groove to it :)

Phew. It's similar but not the same. I think it's ok. Never heard that tune before.

I'm getting a bit of a Therion vibe off that track, Proggy.

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

I like the organ. If it had more vibrato/whirlygig in it, it'd probably sound to hammond-cheesy. It's got a good balance.

Thanks dude. I've only ever heard one Therion song. It was on a compilation (Deaf Metal) Peaceville Records put out back in the day. Sounded ace.

I remember that CD! :) It had a red and yellow cover.

Still have it knocking around here. Liked the Chorus of Ruin track a lot at the time (Headstone) as it had a Paradise Lost style melodic lead guitar to it.

That's the one! There was some decent stuff on that. I loved the MOrta Skuld song (in the shadows IIRC).

I remember a melodic black metal band called Eucharist that were quite mental sounding too.

Quite enjoying these. The second might be a repost but it's a fantastic track, especially when it kicks in after the prog rock-like intro.

Deadly! Nice bang of Fredrik Thordendal and Theory In Practice off it :D

(Also, spam away, as it's great to hear not just original stuff, but proggy stuff that's done a bit up the road from where I live! I can count the amount of people I know from my town into heavy and proggy music on one hand).

    Thanks! Yes, definitely Fredrik influenced.

I actually wrote the solo first for that part and had to figure out how the hell I was going to put a rhythm part behind it.

I got married on Saturday! :o)
It was nice when all our family went 'ahhh isn't that lovely' when me and the misses read out our promises.
Little do they know it's from dead skin mask and about Ed Gein.

Really enjoying the new Sabbath way more than I expected. Second half of the album is absolutely killer.

The big whig-out jam on Damaged Soul is classic early Sabbath, Ozzy even plays his harmonica. Hearing Iommi and Butler play against each other and jam is a real treat. Whoever (whether it really was Rubin or not) got them to jam together on the record rather than record separately was bang on.

Yeah I'm loving it. Personal favourite is damaged soul, after five minutes is blindingly good with tony killing it on the solo with ozzy on the harmonica. :) amazing.

It's also the same at Google Play.

For the love of God don't buy a download from Amazon. The quality of their files is utterly dreadful. Go to Google or 7Digital and get 320K files.
