In truly 'WTF' news, Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying frontman), was recently arrested, on charge of soliciting a hitman to kill his wife.

AILD is one of my favourite bands too. Shocking, horrible news to wake up to.

Warlock does enjoy playing arbiter of taste, but he knows we've all heard his band so he's fooling no one :-P

Seriously though, of course AILD aren't shit. It's just a shame they don't channel their talents away from the whiny, kid-friendly metalcore stuff a bit more often. They can be good, but actually I have a suspicion the guy at the mixing desk on the last few albums is the real talent.

Pretty much. Maybe he fades out the jesusey stuff.
And pfft. What's the point of being in bands if you can't force people to listen to horrible noises? :D

Former Obituary guitarist Allen West has home cooking utensils..

Not really the Warrel Dane type of cooking, it's more along the lines of Walter White :D

    @Syrette

Only heard Prancer so far and really enjoyed it. How does the rest of the record compare to it?

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but there is a 40 track sampler available from Century Media here:

    http://www.thisisarmageddon.com/

It's ok if you like that sort of thing. Personally I'm getting a lot more mellow in my advancing years.

@Pepsipop You do know that you're not allowed to admit to liking Tenacious D, don't you? It's supposed to be a guilty secret.

How is it a guilty one? They play at download, rock am ring etc.
It's fun. Plus tracks like the metal and master exploder have sick riffs.

    Clip

I've been working on this for a couple of hours with some new tone settings. I'm so into it, I can't tell if I like the guitar tone or not. Any metal heads care to give a listen and comment?

    It's about 2 mins long.

I think we have a difference of opinion on what constitutes a "sick" riff.

I quite like 'em overall, though.

I think it's more a form of insanity at this point than it is a skill :)

    Cheers for listening.
