    And yeah - StixxUK; Always had an excellent time at Graspop. We got the Eurostar as the ticket covers you to any Belgian station... right up to the fest itself pretty much. Last went in 2006, though, but still hear great things.

    That's next on my list of things to do this morning, even if going backwards through a band's stuff isn't always a good thing. Nice to know it's worth a go in this case.

    Bloodstock used to be a power metal festival. :(

    First blast of the new Suffocation record.

    Have to say this is a total surprise and the best thing they've recorded since the 90s. I find it a bit of a coincidence that the complete wanker that is Mike Smith is again out and the band sound re energised. Culross is the better sticksman anyway.

    He was less than kind about the split in an interview over at Sick Drummer

    To sum up
    - Culross is just enjoying a 'moment in time, on me'. And all the other stuff Smith did in the band 'can't be replaced'.

    - He implies that Bowyer and Marchais are simply hired musicians, and that they can't even play the songs properly.

    - He bigs up his own skills as if he's the best drummer in death metal.

    From my own perspective, when I went to see them play in Fibbers in 2008, i got chatting to 4/5 of the band before and after the gig, all sound lads. Smith had nothing to do with the fans that night.

    It's a grower for sure, not as good as night is the new day but it's still a good Katatonia album, not this years best.

    It's mainly about Alcest to be honest.

    Couldn't tell you. The only time I remember seeing or hearing them was back at Ozzfest when they were booed and bottled off stage.

    Calling Black gives way to blue an awesome album is an overstatement tbh. It starts strong but the later part of the album including the title track just feels like filler.

    There's maybe three or four tracks I've re-listened to, the rest of the album I skip over.
