Been listening to the below for the first time in a long time. So good. The last 2 somehow still don't sound dated.

I was listening to the last one only the other day. It went a little bit downhill after that though.

I think some of you chaps like Baroness? They're releasing a double album set in July called Yellow & Green, a follow up to Red & Blue.

Personally, I reckon they've been playing too much Pokemon.

    Oh, lucky! :D

Listening to these chaps. Hits a similar spot to what latter day Gorguts hit, but sounding a bit less cold (but just as bleak).

Girl, you thought he was a man, but he was a muffin.

Absu was a lot of fun tonight, total contrast to Agalloch. Really good metal show.

Has this not been posted in here yet? Previously unreleased track from the Vulgar Display of Power sessions.

I say unreleased, but if you listen to it from a certain point onwards it's basically a song that eventually morphed into the (much better) 'Use My Third Arm' off Far Beyond Driven.

Been listening to Pantera so much again recently. I think for me they're that one huge metal band that I view as the undisputed epitome of the genre (in the same way people value the likes of Maiden and Metallica). Maybe that's just an age thing.

Never really got the Pantera love, a friend loves them and Dime to bits but to me a few good songs lots of filler. Best album was 101% proof, because it didn't have the filler imo.

Listening to Danzig at the moment, no idea what to make of him tbh, seems a bit monotonous.

Anybody on here got Anathema's 'Weather Systems'? Wondered what your thoughts are as I've not got round to picking it up yet.

I got it yesterday. Really like it, I prefer it to the last full album.

Maturin, is there much difference in the sound at all or is it more of the same sort of thing?

It is different. Sounds a bit more like older material than the last album.

Do you think? It's certainly of the same cloth as the last, possibly shares some similarities with A Natural Disaster, it's just an incredible album, one that I think deserves to have a wider audience.

Yes. I particularly liked the track with Anneke van Giersbergen (former The Gathering singer) guesting on vocals.

Have you tried Devin Townsend's album addicted if you like her?

Not yet, but I see she's been recording with him again this week.

It's a real shame her solo stuff isn't very good - or at least is too poppy to my taste. Oh well,. really looking forward to the new Gathering album as Silje is doing a great job on vocals.

For those of you that live in or around London and can't make it to Morrowfest, Labrat (my stupid metal band, for those who don't know) announced a show at Islington Hope & Anchor with the mighty Dripback. 12th May, tickets are available here http://www.wegottickets.com/event/166433
Not many left at this point, so be quick if you want to see a fat old sod have a heart-attack onstage!

Back for two shows, that one and Morrowfest - basically we thought that Morrowfest would be a good way to say goodbye to the Rat as well as pay tribute to Jonny Morrow :) We added the London show last-minute to help pay our costs to get to Nottingham (as I have to fly or put my car on a boat to get over and play it), as well as to play for some of our friends in London that can't make the next day :)
