I was at that gig. Breach opened and tore the place to pieces, Neurosis bulldozed what was left (ZERO moshpit, just stunned, reverent stillness everywhere!) and Entombed poured petrol over the site and set fire to it. Fucking amazing show.

Recently been getting into Pagan Altar and Pentagram.

Really cool trad doom, if that's what you call it.

I dislike 'shouting' in music, but goddamn Every Time I Die's new album is fucking awesome.

    Get bent.

    So good.

Oh and I don't think Sonisphere (or Download) have ever been marketed as metal (and only metal) festivals.

The new one is apparently on Spotify right now. If not, take it from me that it might well be the best thing they've ever done, simply breathtaking in every way.

Both great bands there! Also, Pentagram have one of the wackiest bastids in metal fronting them in the shape of Bobby Liebling. Victor Griffin is one of the most underrated guitarist out there too (check out his work with Place of Skulls too, particullarly 'With Vision').

Did anyone here go to Hammerfest? I was hoping to go as my brother was playing, but being an ex-pat nowadays made things too difficult to organise in time. Apparently they (Kyrbgrinder) had a bit of a crap slot but managed to pack out the venue anyway :-), was just wondering if anyone caught it.

I can definitely recommend Place of Skulls as well, very good stuff.

Just came across Ice Dragon today. Heavy, psychedelic Black Sabbath/Electric Wizard inspired doom that is, well, very very good! Listen to it at bandcamp:

Hey everyone, I'm back with another clip for you to listen to :D

This time it's the outro section to one of my tunes. Just want to get some feedback as to whether it's suitably "epic" sounding.

Keep in mind that I haven't mixed it or anything yet and the vocals are not yet incided.

@Progguitarist Yeah, I like that. Very professional sound and suitably epic IMO. Will definitely like to hear the whole song when it is done!

@BeheretiK Wow, thanks. I've had a horrid week of recording with so much annoying little things working against me so it's very nice to hear some positive feedback. Thank you!

Same here. Loved every second of it (and the rest of your clips there, for that matter). Keep it up and keep us posted. \m/

Nice! I especially like the long sustained bends and stuff on the little solo drop-ins. Every time you post stuff I'm reminded that I should be actually recording stuff too and not goofing off or being lazy.

Thanks so much. After the week I've had I can't tell you how much it means to me to hear some nice words.

I'm nearly there with this song now. I'm hoping the rest of the album goes smoothly.
