Ok cool. Sounds like a decent length and I do tend to be rather slow! It's sitting on me shelf so I'll tackle it after bioshock I think. Looking forward to it though as id haven't let me down yet.|
Might pair it with Raven's Singularity for a proper old school double bill!

It's a great old school shooter. Overshadowed somewhat by the insulting ending.
The best shottie in a game since Doom 2 though.

I'm enjoying it so far, a good, solid id shooter.
I thought the shottie was a bit vague but since i've used it a bit more in corridors and confined spaces, yeah, it's great. I do like the pistol though, it's my go to weapon at the moment with some Fatboys loaded up.
The sound cuts out completely now and then but i just reload my last save and it's back. Annoying but no big problem.
It is Doom 3 in a Mad Max suit. If you like that, you'll love this.
I think I'll love it
Not sure why I'm still wasting my time on this game
But why can I unload an entire clip or a few shotgun shells into someone and they're seemingly fine
Yet if I throw a wingstick into their arm they die?

It wasn't very good in the end.
Not as bad as some people said just very average. Graphics were ok at the time game hasn't aged very well.

I think it gets a bad rap because you expect more from id, it wasn't as bad as people make out. It's fun in parts, looks great and has a lot of variety. It just doesn't go as far or as deep with that variety as you wish it did.

I remember liking it a lot. The first half was better and the final location was a bit crap.
I bought it again to replay it but haven't touched it yet.

The end-game completely drops off a cliff to the point where the game feels unfinished. Otherwise, it's not a bad time at all. I played as the engineer and had quite a bit of fun summoning spider bots and such. The driving is well done, too.
Though I'll always associate Rage with the Breaking Bad episode where Jesse's working out his demons via light gun.
Enjoyed the driving sections strangely for me.
Yeah the driving isn't too bad, I enjoy the capture the points challenges too.
Still making my way through this, think I'm near the end now. The levels all feel so long and I don't understand why it takes 4 close range shotgun headshots to kill an enemy.

I tried to get into this again a couple of months ago and I still couldn't play it for more than an hour without getting bored. The driving bits are boring and the shooting is just OK. Enemies are bullet sponges as well. Maybe I'll try again in another 4 years.
Remember the enemies being bullet sponges. The pacing of the game was very strange couldn't make it out. It seemed to take forever to get going.

I thought the combat was great and liked the gadgets and ammo types, but the RPG and open world mechanics are half-baked and let the game down.
It would have been much better without a rigid quest system and looting system IMO.
The game ended abruptly as well, with no real pacing, as the game progresses. Id should stick to pure shooters.
