Veggie bf is out at his work Christmas do so I have steak \o/

(I can eat steak when he's home, but I can't really enjoy it properly)

I just did, it was practically moo-ing. My plate is red. God that was good. Thank you, Aberdeen Angus.

Just had our work Christmas meal - chicken wings with BBQ and blue cheese dips, 12oz medium rare ribeye and fries. Heaven :)

I couldn't live with a vegetarian. Yesterday I had meat for every single meal.

I don't mind living with a vegetarian, it probably makes me less likely to get bowel cancer, which is the only disease that my family has a history of. I still get enough meat to be happy (matron).

    American is meatland though.

We just got a meat delivery yesterday, coincidentally. Box containing four top-quality steaks, ten premium burgers, 1lb of chicken breast, gourmet frankfurters and polish sausage, four bone-in chops, and two large stuffed soles, plus a bunch of sides. Not bad for fifty bucks.

Meat delivery? Is this just an US thing?

It's a luxury package for Christmas, not like we order it in every month. Similar things exist in the UK - my mum gets a meat box every so often.

EDIT: "for Christmas" as in it's a present to ourselves, not that we're going to eat the entire contents over the Christmas period. Although that would be awesome.

That's not bad at all for $50. I couldn't get all that at the supermarket for $50.

Did you cook that in the house? It'll stink a mile away to him now.

You'd better open all the doors and windows to be sure.

I opened the window a little and shut the door from the kitchen to the house, but really? I don't care. It's not like I'm not allowed to eat meat in our house, I'm just very polite about it.

There are compromises to be made in all relationships and I don't think it's too much to ask for him to put up with a bit of meat stink in return for all the effort I put into eating the way he likes most of the time.

Ordered some interlocking foam mats from eBay for child/floor interface protection this evening at 6.20pm. They were delivered to my house at 7.10pm. Turns out the warehouse is 3 miles away.

So, got engaged on Friday night to my girlfriend of 7 years (as in I've been going out with her for 7 years, she's not 7)

Absolutely over the moon about the whole thing :D

    Cheers :D

I took her away for the night to a very fancy hotel that she loves (didn't tell her where we were going until we were on the road), wined and dined her then popped the question back in the room while she was distracted by the snow falling outside :)
