    Taste.

If you eat something tasty you feel happy which equates to full

If you eat something healthy that tastes like cardboard you'll still want to eat something tasty

How it breaks down inside the stomach would be my idea.
What? How your stomach breaks things down has nothing to do with satiety. It's just a case of volume of micro/macronutrients.

Because they're bigger than digestives, it takes more bites to finish one, you spend longer chewing thus increasing satiety.

Jeez. Had the worst run of my life yesterday. Had to stop after fifteen minutes. Been pretty fatigued recently -- noticed I'm hungry all the time. All the time. Metabolism seems to be in overdrive. Think I need a week off from doing manly curlz and all that.

A week off can work wonders...just make sure it's only a week. I've done that and ended up having a month off.

Skipping is fucking hard work isn't it. I set out to do a 5 minute non-stop thing, had to stop after 2 minutes before my lungs exploded

Aside from cycling not doing much exercise at all at the moment. Must start up again.

Yup, been doing it for just over a year. On P90X2 atm. Got great results, and I'm definitely much sexier now.

Has anyone else used the JetFit app? I'm finding it a huge benefit to mt workouts as it gives me a virtual gym buddy and a proper routine I enjoy and follow.

Well worth it for solo gym types!

I'm going to start all over again, but I've left all this fitness stuff for so long that I need to just get fit enough to start P90X. So planning to do some crazy cardio sessions at the gym for a weekish and then go all out. Oh yea B^{D... well that's the plan.

Show of hands - Can anyone here run 10k in 45 minutes? That's my target, sort of wanted to gauge whether that is actually reasonable or if I should be more realistic..

I don't think it's that unrealistic. What are your times at the moment?

Edit: I couldn't do 10 yards in 45 mins at the mo, but I think with the swimming and rowing you're a bit fitter than me!

    o/

It's not easy, but someone with a decent level of base fitness should be about to at least get pretty damn close.

Started P90X again two weeks ago and am feeling pretty good now. Working normal hours has made it much easier to fit in everyday.

Yeah my PB was 44:05, but that was a few years ago. I'm back in the 52 minute region, but with each week my time is decreasing as I get back to form.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

That's the thing, not really sure what my 10k time is. I've not been running for long. I know I can do 5k in less than 25 minutes. I guess it's achievable then, I shall continue trying!

Crap formula, but take your best 5k time, double it and add five minutes.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

For a first time 10k, after a little bit of training of course, anything under fifty minutes is a reasonably good time to take away with you.

I swim and hop onto my bicycle all the time now, but when I used to do the occasional 10k, at my best, it was a shy over forty minutes. That'll never happen for me these days though ... was burnt out on running too often and prefer a leisurely swim nowadays!

I'm training for a marathon and I have the same problem. My calves start to get really tight at around 15-18 miles and it makes running really uncomfortable.

Anyone know how I can combat this?

Phase one of home gym is done. Took down all the shelves in the garage, bought some polyfilla and sanding paper for the holes where the rawl plugs were, and paid someone to cart all the shit away.

Now waiting for delivery of rubber flooring.

Only problem is garage need a proper clean and there are spiders and things and I am afeared :-(
