Laura Dern, Tim Roth, and Naomi Watts joining, and Harry Dean Stanton returning!

Somehow Catherine E. Coulson is in the list, I wonder if it is old footage or they got some new material shot the month before she dies.

No Ontkean and no Michael J. Anderson, which is a shame. I would have like to see Windem back too, but really, the cast that is returning is amazing.

Apparently Miguel Ferrer has a lot of screen time. Albert Rosenfield FTW.

And Ray Wise, well I could just watch him all day.

Over the moon really, and I have 100% faith in Lynch and Frost to deliver the goods.

Handy guide with original series cast members bolded.
    Enjoy

(I have little to no idea who most of them are. Except Mädchen...teenage crush.)

Frost said there are still a few surprises being held back from the casting list, I imagine Heather Graham is one they are keeping under wraps.

He made a beautiful woman! But that was in his early 30's... Could be an interesting look now a days. He looked so old on the new X Files season.

Nearly finished rewatching the series after a good 5/6 years since I last did. The Josie ending made me laugh, as I couldn't remember that was what happened to her. According to a blog that was very nearly a closure of the series, but they fought on for more episodes. That would certainly have been a proper weird way to end it all...Josie stuck in the great northern, or a bedside door knob...

I just love Lynch and Twin Peaks in particular holds so many fond memories for me. If he's in his element and esp. considering the cast this could be stellar.

    Don't let me down David!

I was a bit young when this first came out to get into this, I will consider retrying but if I didn't I assume jumping in on the new series would be pointless?

Fuck it, I'll watch the first ep as its on sky box sets still, add something else I'll struggle to complete.

Also have to second fancying madchen back then, soooooo hot.

As far as I know nothing has been revealed about the plot so far.

Knowing Lynch this could be a continuation of the original series just as much as it could be a totally unrelated story with the same setting and with some of the characters from the original series, or something inbetween, or something else entirely.

The original series is well worth watching either way, particularly the first season. The second one meanders quite a bit, is arguably too long and the story becomes increasingy "out there" (but hey, that's to be expected considering it's Lynch)
However, it's still worth seeing, particularly as some of the characters that will most likely make a comeback are only intruded in season 2.

    Heh.

I must say I was surprised when I saw her in recent interviews; she has visibly aged but primarily looks more mature rather than truly older.
Largely the same with MacLachlan actually.

I did kind of watch it back in the day but at 13 or so I probably struggled to make much sense of it all, in fairness it was nuts back then. I recall who did it I think but not what happened along the way at all. The soundtrack is nostalgic and actually the acting is pretty good too.

@ChiefGB You won't make sense of some of it as an adult either ;)

Lynch is well known for using metaphors, surrealism, dream sequences and such in his work.
He even purposefully puts in elements that don't make sense because he thinks they're fun or to confuse the audience.

For instance, I read an interview on Lost Highway where he admitted to writing a plot that people could find possible explanations for but none of them could encompass the entirety of the plot, you'd always find elements that don't quite fit the explanation when going back to the film.

Yeah, I'm not the brightest either for that stuff. I assume thinking about it that the new series can't be that entrenched with this one unless it's just a work of indulgence, that said we are talking about lynch here.

Either way it can't hurt to get back in touch with the characters.

Us men of a certain age, she was important growing up.

I honestly don't want any resolution to the series, and I hope it raises more questions than answers. If other series are to go by answering all the questions doesn't make it a better series. Still I do want to know what happened to Cooper, but thats the beauty of it. All those years wondering. I'd hate to be disappointed.

@zisssou I'm with you on leaving loose ends. I know a lot of people hate it but I like trying to fill in the blanks myself, as log as it's thought provoking, compelling and interesting to watch.

Lynch is one of my favourite directors because of it :)

All I can take from revisiting the pilot is that everyone is banging everyone else. It's movie length as well, literally 90 mins without any adverts. Done for now but as I'm not a binger I'll try to get around to the next one.

Lynch is definitely a self-indulgent bastard, but there are few such bastards that I'm only too happy to indulge. His style of story-telling is wonderful.

I can't stick loose ends tbh, I'm probably on a hiding to nothing with this. Anyway just firing up ep 3.

Just great to have on in the background whilst playing Zelda.

Well it's loosing the plot from the beginning here, family sat at the table with a full headdress wearing Indian rocking in a chair, then the little weasel from commando comes in passing around Brie baguettes.

You really just have to go with it. I had trouble with that at first, but eventually you get into the rhythm of it and let stuff slide. A piece of plot exposition comes from a lady and her log? Just roll with it.
