    Link to 4 Color Rebellion.

Spike Jonze is busy making an adaptation of WTWTA. The first shot is available over at AICN. Looks good...

    OMFG!

This better be good, I loved the book and art style, so fantastical.

Is it going to be a full length film though? Hmmm, could be very hard to make it work, didn't someone make a cartoon of the book though?

hmmm - I'll go see it when it's out but I really cant imagine a Spike Jonze version of this.

Now a Tim Burton or Hayao Miyazaki version would have been something to get REALLY excited about..

Two photos of this long awaited project (for me a least):

    1
    2
"Director Spike Jonze made extensive use of Down Under locales for his long-awaited take on Maurice Sendak's classic children's tale. ''The look and feel is very naturalistic—when our creatures knock down trees, they really knock down trees,'' says Jonze. ''When I was a boy, reading this story, I imagined myself really being there—not in front of a bluescreen.''"
Sounds brilliant and I'm glad he's decided against blue-screen which, imho, is one of the the main culprits of sucking all the excitement and wonder out of cinema.

(N.B. Found these thanks to the Terminator thread)

WTWTA was written before the lead designer and director of Ico was born.

Thought this could do with a bump as plenty of new photos have been popping up lately and also the announcement that a teaser will be shown along with Monsters vs Aliens.

Unlikely as Paramount are distributing Monster Vs Aliens in the UK.

    Looking forward to this though.

Alas, I did not know that.

It definitely looks amazing though. I'm glad most of it is live action too, and only the faces are CGI.

Hopefully it'll live up to it's promise considering how much shit it's gone through. It's not out yet, who knows what else could happen.

Were these the tiny little books from way back when? I think I still have a set from the 60's.

Looks great, I just hope the added 'real world' story elements don't work against the charm of the original story.

I absolutely loved that trailer. Arcade Fire worked really well on there, I thought.
