Finally, a feel good squirrel story

I fear though that when they grow full sized they may turn against their adopted mother and eat her eyes out

"Their red fur has started to come in now too which is a relief as I was worried in case they were greys after all."

    OMG! Squirrel racism!

Quite right too! Those scrounging grey bastards, coming to our country, stealing our nuts. Bastards. Lazy and disease-ridden too.

The ground squirrels will are being relocated to an area about 40 kilometres (25 miles) away where holes have already been dug to house them.

Ground squirrels? Holes in the ground? I think this should be in the Rabbit News thread. Either that or this is a cover story, they are going to eat them.

This is also bullshit - the amount of woodland in the UK is double what it was 100 years ago.

I have no evidence to the contrary, but surely this cant be true.
I'm not digging you out or anything, just seems implausable.

According to the BBC: "Size of UK's woodland doubled in last 100 years, to 2.85m hectares"

Ah, fair enough then. Good news for squirrels!

Not quite a squirrel but I don't think a pic of a fat-ass hedgehog deserves its own thread.

One of teh bezt things about moving here are the number of squirrels everywhere. Must see at least ten or so a day, and that's not living out in the country or anything.

Was having a BBQ and drink around the fire at a friend's the night before last. Again, in town but still a raccoon wandered along the neighbouring house and couldn't have been more than 10 feet from us.

    All the wildlife is awesome.

But the legions of squirrels are the most awesome. Next year I'm going to get a squirrel feeder. Along with a bat house to help kill the fucking bastard cunting mozzies.
