Started watching that video without without paying too much attention to comments, and assumed it was a cover of Get Lucky, then I read further....... Oh dear. I like the faces he pulls near the end of the video as if he's getting punched in the face :D

    /Strokes real beard

    Hmmm... yes indeed

    Previously unreleased Daft Punk/Jay-Z collaboration.

Seemingly "confirmed" as genuine, at present:

Not a huge fan of Daft Punk generally, but have been *loving* the Maximum Overdrive mix of Robot Rock.

After two years, Random Access Memories is still a good album, don't you agree?

Been listening to it again recently, some of the tracks are still excellent.

I'd say half very good half shit. Not a patch on discovery.

It's a fine album - though not up there with Discovery and Homework it's a much better record than Human After All (which was poor to say the least).

Some of the tracks rank amongst their best - Moroder, Touch and Contact especially.

    It's alright. Their worst album.

It might be my favourite album of theirs. A couple of tracks aside, I never got into Homework.

Discovery is great, though, and Human After All is terrible.

How can you not get into Homework? It's like pure concentrated Daft Punk.

Yeah classic stuff. Man, the frogs were great at house music around the late 90s / early 00s. Them, Air, Cassius, Modjo, Alan Braxe, Mr Oizo...

I dunno, I just find the loops a bit repetitive at times. It just feels like the songs don't go anywhere, like I'm waiting for something to happen that never comes.

It probably is their most concentrated French-house album, but I wasn't really a big fan of that genre, I just liked a couple of break-out songs here and there.

Just been listening to Giorgio Moroder - Best of Electronic Disco.

Really is essential listening for Daft Punk fans.

    Old school fans you mean?

The new album was beyond dire.

Teachers is a stone cold classic. Contains all the masters of my genre.

    @Acidizer
Teachers is a load of shit... The extended version on one of their singles was pretty decent, until the pretentious vocals kick in.
That was always the low point of Homework for me.

@dfunked You are making no sense.

The extended version is exactly the same as the shorter version, just drawn out. Not only that the "extended" version is the OG version, the shorter version is for fools with no attention span or turntables.

You don't know good acid music, never mind the roll call of masters in that track.

DJ'S ON THE LOW! GREEN VELVET!

Nah, it's a load of shit. Never particularly liked it as a teen when I first heard it and don't particularly like it now.
The acid line is pretty tame too if that's your idea of good acid music

Acid lines don't have to be blazing face melters, if you are after those, I have a few

The acid line in Teachers is AWESOME. Mellow and funky, and helps sustain the whole track.

The track is a masterpiece, you are wrong, and that's that.

You're all wrong anyway. As per my link Daft Punk are just 70s Electro Disco rip offs rebranded as house.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here! ;)

Definitely agree that acid can sound ace just bubbling along in the background, but on that track in particular it just doesn't do it for me.

Oh well. Maybe a re-listen is in order

I can imagine a Teacher 2.0. Fucking Pharrel Williams.

No one said that wasn't the case. The people who make this music would be the first to admit it.

I don't think hip hop has any shame in sampling oldies either.

Most music is a regurgitation. The real phonies are the ones who don't admit it.

Every artist take elements from other artists. The Beatles - arguably the most influential band of all time - took lots from Motown. It's how music works.

I really liked Random Access Memories :|

I'd put Touch, Giorgio by Moroder and especially Contact up there with their very best.
