Yeah pretty sure it's legit. Released tomorrow. Seems to be missing some audio from the teaser videos, but I reckon they will be on the album version which is two minutes longer. Can't wait for the album now.

Absolutely, I think it's superb. You can listen to the whole thing on YouTube if you want before buying.
Check out the 'Reconfigured' remix album too.

Get Lucky is released at Midnight, wonder if those who have pre-ordered digitally get it for free or not?

Same here. Think that's the first single I've bought for about 20 years.

Yup, I bought it on iTunes as well, I think only the second song I've ever bought on there.

Wasn't sure at first, but it's definitely a grower.

It's a good pop song, very Summer friendly and will no doubt be played at weddings for years to come, but I somehow expected a bit more from the first single - it just doesn't build enough.

It's not great. Other than the bit in the middle where they mess around with the vocal effects, it sounds like a mediocre N.E.R.D album track.

I'm still not convinced someone singing over a Daft Punk track is that great... I kind of prefer the sound of Get Lucky when to vocoder vocals kick in, the Pharrell Williams bit's almost sound like someone just riffing over an instrumental track. They just don't seem to fit in...

Nice enough track but it's still not up there with anything off Homework and Discovery.

Huge Daft Punk fan and I agree with this absolutely.

Best bit of the song by miles is the bit where they use effects on the vocals, proper prime Daft Punk. Otherwise it is literally a mediocre nerd track.

The bit where it started to break down in the middle - I was hoping it would build up into something a bit more daft punky, but it just went back to shopping channel funk

I just find it a bit jarring that a band that have always sounded like THE FUTURE have released something that wouldn't sound out of place in a cheesy nightclub called something like 'Flares' or 'Boogie Nightz'.

If they're doing mild funk with Pharrel Williams, it means they're not doing this kind of thing...

It's perfectly okay, but it sounds more like a Nile Rodgers/Pharrell song than a Daft Punk one. A lot of collaborators usually isn't a great sign for an album, so here's hoping there's actually some Daft Punk in there.

They always change it up. Discovery sounded nothing like Homework and Human After All sounded nothing like either of them.

They actually talk about it here.

"There was a sense of searching for a record we hadn't done," Bangalter said. The breakthrough came when they started experimenting with live musicians and "[recreating] what we used to do with machines and samplers, but with people". While Daft Punk still use vintage vocoders and a custom modular synth, the record has hardly any samples. "[We tried] to make robotic voices sound the most human they've ever sounded, in terms of expressivity and emotion."

Not sure what people expect from a disco song to be honest? Expectations too high or expecting them to make the same stuff over and over.

I'm not sure how this is too different from every song on Discovery being sampled from something else.

Get Lucky at 128bpm sounds like a Michael Jackson song.

Nile Rodgers is the best thing on the track, the rest of it is poor. I'm a massive disco fan and loved daft punk up to discovery (which is half a decent album).

Daft Punk now make dance music for people who don't like dance music
