The one problem i have with MGS4 is that the trailer didn't wow me as much as MGS2 one did :(

    SENSO WA KAWATA (or something).

I think it looks amazing. That Raiden custscene alone is incredible - one of the finest I've ever seen, I think. Although the Grayfox vs Metal Gear cutscene from Twin Snakes comes close.

In an interview, Kojima mentioned that he's aware a lot of fans didn't like Raiden, but by the time they finish MGS4 they will think he's really cool. Can't wait!

Kind of a shame seeing Raiden go super ninja in the vid, but knowing that when you actually control him in the same, it's pretty much gonna be "tap X to slash sword, tap three times for a combo" type stuff :(

I doubt we'll get to control him, he's too strong. Considering that we see him take out a large herd of gekkos with apparent ease, I'm thinking that the dev team will make him this episode's super ninja; appears in cutscenes only.

But then, who can predict what will happen in an MGS game?

We all have our own 'issues'. :)

My favourite part of the trailer is actually the bit in the cemetary - so gorgeously rendered and also the sort of image I've never really seen in a game before.

    Have you played MGS3?

It strongly echoes the end of that, where Big Boss saultes The Bosses grave.

    NO!

    /Tries to ignore spoiler

I'm going to play MGS3 sometime before 4 comes out, probably later in the year when I'm not quite so busy with work. So, bizarrely I'd probably prefer it if MGS4 was delayed till next year!

Link please Mappy? Is it a HD one? I looked, but no avail.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

That "old" Snake had better be some kind of trick.

"Yeah, Hideo old matey, I haven't gotten around to playing MGS3 yet, you wouldn't mind delaying the fourth one a bit so I get a chance, would you?"

York: wasn't there a movie a few months ago which featured a young snake at the end? Pesky Kojima! Always with the teasing.

He said that was just a tease and didn't reflect the story at all.

    I need this.

I hope they release a demo asap.
Remember Z.O.E and the MGS2 demo?

Was just as excited on launch day as I was on the demo launch day of Z.O.E.

That was a good year before MGS2 release.

Come to think of it. Where the fuck is Z.O.E 3 on PS3?

They should bundle a ZOE3 demo with MGS4, repay the favour.

    That's for sure!

Watching the trailer I had visions of playing the game and stumbling in to one of those beasts. Severe pant shitting experiences ensue...

Cyborg cow mooing shitting enemies ftw!

Sure in MGS2 he takes on all those Matal gears.

Hmm... just been watching the hi-def trailer for this from PSN, and I have to say it's hugely impressive in terms of the overall effect it creates.

There are clearly some sacrifices in detail as a result of the scale though, such as some rather angular wheels, angular ears, a few low-res textures and character models that are a lot less detailed than Heavenly Sword's (for example, since I think that has the most impressive ones I've seen to date). And yet when you see it all in motion, the screen filled with action, none of that matters at all, and the fight between Raiden and Vamp is simply jawdropping stuff.

The story sounds like a load of old bollocks as per usual, but I'm still really looking forward to this now.

I did a small wee when I saw the latest trailer.

I didn't wank myself blind over tiny details in the graphical spunkitude of it. It just looked fantastic.

Is it just me or is that fight between Raiden and Vamp all about manly love?

Raiden's girlyness still as a cyborg.

The way they grab each other.

    That double penetration.

"Will you be the one to actually finish me off?"

    Is Kojima gay?
