Beck is popular, just not outside of the US. In America he is like a living legend.

Registered 7 years agoBeck is big in America. Not Springsteen huge but still really big.
In this case, the UK are the fools. -

Registered 9 years agomorriss doesn't just 'like' Beck. He owns practically everything he's done and Beck is morriss' absolute favourite artist.
morriss is a Beck-fanboy. -

Registered 9 years agoOi, I would contest morriss for that title; I even bought his tickets to see Beck a two years ago, when he had to cancel!
The only thing that pisses me off about him; http://www.lermanet.com/beck/
Still, he's fucking great. I want 'Jackass' played at my funeral.

Registered 9 years agoHis lyrics, his public statement, don't seem to be affected by his beliefs, so as far as I'm concerned, behind closed doors, he can think what he likes. Just as long as he doesn't start preaching, I'm happy. -

Registered 9 years agoWell, I broadly agree. If anything, maybe it has heightened his oddness... Still, it means I find it disturbing. Anyway.
Favourite tracks, anyone? Did you like The Information? I preferred it to Guero. -
New single
It was released on August 21, but I haven't heard it before. Surely a new album isn't this close (as in, within the next year)? -

Always annoying when rock stars start plugging their shitty religions. -

Registered 8 years agoMrs Wobble likes Beck, so I looked into getting his back catalogue and was shocked to see how expensive the cds were.. £14-£16 kind of expensive... which I'm not paying for a CD. (I bought Odelay for £13 i think) ..
So if I wanted to buy more of his back catalogue, where do you think is the best place to get them from? -

Quite a bit cheaper than that on Amazon - £5 to £9 generally

Me too....but then I don't listen much to words and just regard them as another noise/instrument. I think too much prog rock in my teens did this to me....
I must have missed the religion plugging.

I'd like it if he did another album like Mutations. His electronic/hip-hop stuff's all very good, but I prefer the acoustic/country stuff TBH.

I still can't really listen to The Information without getting bored about 60% of the way through.
Guero and Odelay are far and away his best albums. Mutations is pretty close though. -
