|@jani5 I just tried 576i Skyward Sword on a 1080p TV and I can't really see any major difference, the gui is still very jaggy.|

Right. It's not just asking you 576i or 480p, it's asking you 576i/50 or 480p/60. You need to choose 480p/60, since that's the way the games were developed. No ifs or buts.
You young un's. What we'd have done for a 60hz option back in the day...
@brn 480p over component cables is the best you're going to get. If it's still too jaggy you need to find a CRT from somewhere and get an RGB scart.
21 consoles, 5 handhelds, 2 PCs, 1 Mac and about 700 games from the past 30 years. Every major manufacturer and developer represented. Still a fanboy for disagreeing with you.

Good post, I was just coming in to say the exact same thing.
Never mind the improved visual fidelity that 480p/60Hz gives, interlaced signal + 50Hz refresh = headache city.
Good bump, I'm sure the Xbox one crew will probably want an answer to this too.

So subtle it went unnoticed for a week.
The thread needed to air out with some tumbleweeds.
