I thought it was the Hills Have Eyes remake (although shit) until I saw Switchblade Romance. I couldn't even get to the end!

Irreversible. Not so much the infamous rape scene, although that is also shocking, but the opening scene is by far the grimmest thing Iíve witnessed in a film. That soundtrack doesnít help either.

Cradle of Fear, overall a very shit film.

But guy getting his throat ripped out, guy getting his head ripped in two, cat getting gutted and eaten.

Oh and for good measure someone getting their leg hacked off with a machete.

Just watched Grindhouse on Sunday and have to say that the Planet Terror segment contains some of the most violent gore I have ever seen. Eraserhead is also pretty fucked up.

Cannibal Holocaust and Ferox are both fucked up, but only because of the dodgy animal snuff, the effects are mostly too dated to shock, though you get where they were going with it.

Murder-Set-Pieces is completely twisted, one of the few movies I've seen that graphically shows kids being murdered.

Hills Have Eyes was fairly gruesome for a mainstream horror.

    And then there is Aftermath...

Some, er, 'interesting' scenes in that one. Like the intestine explosion, or woman having her hands frozen then smashed to bits.

    Flowers of Flesh and Blood.

The second in the Guinea Pig series of films, it's basically a film about a guy kidnapping and then slowly cutting a woman to pieces. It doesn't shy away from showing him sawing her limbs off for example.

SalÚ o le 120 giornate di Sodoma would be up there as well.

Don't watch many gory films eh?

Wolf Creek wasn't that bad at all, well not compared to some of these suggestions.

Wolf Creek wasn't too bad in general, but the "head on a stick" bit made even me cringe.

I find Hills Have Eyes to be sicker, but it wasn't as good a flim as Wolf Creek. In fact the amount of gore and general sickness of the film made it worse imo, in wolf creek it made more sense.

Probably Ichi the Killer for me. I don't tend to watch gross films (in fact, I hate them) but this movie was so good it's easily one of my favourites.

I love how every horrific experiment was okay because it was "for science!" Yeah, I'm sure throwing a cat into a cage with hundreds of starved rats provided lots of valuable information. The thought that most of those experiments actually took place during the WWII is really scary.

Although I'll have to admit the burning rats were kinda pretty in top-down view.

I thought Wolf Creek was shit. An hour of watching dull idiots traipsing around the outback, followed by a bit of screaming. It'd be alright if it was only 30 minutes long.

I tend to avoid 'sick' movies, really. But, I suppose that scene in Creep is one of the sickest things I've seen.

I always thought of Ichi the Killer as being a ludicrously violent film (like Kill Bill), rather than a sick film. Guess I'm wrong, then, though I've never actually seen the movie.
