Adebisi was incredible, not least for how he kept that hat on at such a jaunty angle.

@Load_2.0 - Ace! Not seen it for years :). It's bigger than I remember though, hmm.

I still remember the show fondly as a whole, though.
Same here, although if I'd watched it after all the higher profile HBO stuff I'd probably have a lower opinion of it.

The two old guys were my favourite - Busmallis or whatever. I especially liked the old guy who was always trying to escape. It was so stupid that the guards never noticed him digging a giant hole in the ground.

    Spoilers ahoy ....
Oz was the first HBO series that I watched and I absolutely loved it. Have recently re watched it, and you are spot on, it doesn't hold up too well.
The biggest problem I found was that a lot of the  storylines are very very silly. Beeches wolverine attack on the Nazi guard. The horrifically burnt preacher/evangelist vanishing into thin air. The complete lack of security, mainly thinking of the governor who whilst giving a press conference (in the prison!?) Gets shot by an ex guard who had been dismissed for getting involved with the prisoners!! Metal detectors anybody!
Despite all the above, the characters are so much fun they do keep you watching, and I do enjoy the monologues from Hill. Also I did watch all 6 seasons on my re watch, so its obv got something still!

I think I might have to watch it again after reading this post :-)

Ryan O'Reilly is such a legend

The whole Cyril and Jericho tag team is great. Definitely worth a rewatch.

A lot of them move around from show to show.

Carm from Sopranos was in it originally too.
