They were pretty disappointing the one time I saw them live but it was a festival and a bt of a weird vibe.

They were good when I saw them in London, I forget where. They were one of the warm up acts for that Black Star gig

One of my buddies has tickets to Hip Hop Kemp in the Czech Republic in a couple weeks' time.

I don't really have the money to go, but I'm sorely tempted. The Pharcyde, KRS-One, Dilated Peoples....I'm not even a hippety hop head but even I like those
  • Deleted user 11 August 2014 17:37:27
    I bet KRS kills it.

I hope he does the one where he makes a noise like police sirens

For anyone that hasn't already seen this 3 MC session which escalates quickly.

    New Kyza album:

Im a massive fan of Bandcamp best resource on the internet for music, and probably also for musicians. I get most of my music there these days. Particularly good for fans of UK hip hop, has pretty much become the unofficial home of it.

Even if you don't like grime this is worth a watch, especially the last guest who would put a smile on anyone's face. Amazing to see them all enjoy rhyming with him so much. Great stuff.

Was never fussed about Grime but I'm slowly coming round to it, always have a good beat and fast paced.

It's a bit much for me generally but you can't deny the energy in it. On occasion I can enjoy it for a little while.

The MCs were always the high point but the beats were enough to totally put me off the entire thing.

When the scene exploded, the tunes generally sounded like a spastic trying to program a ringtone on a nokia 3210 and I just couldnt stand it. Awful, awful shit churned out by no-talent producers which really did the MCs no favours at all.

But, yes, the shitty bleeps and bloops were as catchy as hell to some and helped the scene get as big as it is.

That leaked two minute snippet of Kanye's upcoming tune sounds great. Gives me high hope that his upcoming album won't be like the last one.

I was listening to the Jay-Z and Kanye collaboration album this morning again, and I still think it'd improve markedly with a No-Ye edit.

New Verb T EP (basically a short 9 track album) is seriously good. It's not full of bangers - the whole thing chronicles his struggle with Crohn's Disease and depression - but a great album to sit and listen to.

Really increasingly impressed with him. Incredibly prolific but every release he seems to have something more worth saying than the last one. The very opposite of what everyone else on the UK scene seems to be doing right now, which has regressed back to talking about weed and being all street and ting.

This kid is going to be the next big thing in every sense.
