The new Del is very good. Aptly titled "ILLER THAN MOST".

I've been listening to ALOT of the new Sole stuff over Christmas. Never took the time to see what he was up to after leaving Anticon, and he's absolutely on fire. He has just finished a trilogy of albums, A Ruthless Critisism Of Everything Existing, No Wishing Up No Settling Down and Crimes Against Totality. Beats are incredible and if boarderline pretentious rhymes don't put you off you'll love it.

Highly recommend checking out the Fake Four label. Especially Ceschi and Louis Logics new album.

This popped up on my facebook, it's quite awesome and strange:

"In 1989, the NBA All-Stars were introduced, on national television, by 9-minute Ultramagnetic MC's tour de force."

A mate of mine has done a little album with Tom Caruana, the guy that did the Wu-Tang Vs Beatles mix. It's really nice.

There's a remix album out of the last Jehst album. I never liked the production on it in the first place so the remixes are a real improvement imo. Worth a listen.

Hmm, either available to buy on download, or on cassette?! Cassette? I mean that is kind of cool I suppose but I would buy it right now on CD.

I still don't think you'd rate it up there with his early Braintax produced stuff, but there's a couple of tracks I think you'd like. I can probably just email them to you...

Which ones? I don't mind paying a couple of quid for the good ones

Zombies, England, Poison, Timeless and Two Point Four are the standouts for me.

Only just got it though, so might be some growers on there as well.

I found this site that has tons of mixtapes on, being almost 40 I have lost touch with hip-hop since having kids so for me its a bit pot luck. But at least its some fresh music for me as I have been listening to the same stuff for years, only adding new albums (well new to me) now and again when I have some spare cash.

New Shad album came out in October. He seems more confident, somehow - the music is a bit more dynamic, and his lyrics are as fun and playful as ever.

The new and supposedly final Task Force album is out. About to start listening now.

Enjoying a lot of duos at the moment - Outkast, Cannibal Ox, Run the Jewels, Eric B/Rakim etc - can anyone recommend any others I should listen to?

It's almost criminal Raekwon and GFK haven't made an album together as a team, though GFK's prints are all over OBFCL and II.

    EPMD

Rapper duos, or rapper + producer duos? They're kinda different.

I like Organized Konfusion for the former. Blackstar obviously.

For the latter then Gangstar for the ultimate win. Pete Rock and CL Smooth of course. BDP and my absolute favs, Blackalicious.

Swollen Members' early stuff has great chemistry between Mad Child and Prevail (new stuff is pretty great too, but Prevail's kinda lost it recently and it's more down the middle in terms of splits)

This week I have been mostly enjoying the lovely beats of Ta-Ku.

This comes after a few weeks of caning odissee.

Yea verily 'tis music to calm down to.

When I was at uni in that part of the world I used to go and see these guys all the time and there was loads of mixtapes and bits of vinyl to pick up, but ever since I moved back to London aside from the odd bit on youtube, it just doesn't make it out of Bristol.

Maddening, as I fucking love the stuff, but they're just too hardcore local low-fi for their own good.
